Safer® Brand has a long history of producing high-quality and reliable products. We regret to hear that what was received did not meet these expectations.
The glue on this trap should catch the moths that land on it. Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-7-ORGANIC (1-855-767-4264) for additional assistance.
Review Ratereduced adhesive, doesn't eliminate moth problem
I've been using safer moth traps for several years. The traps are effective at catching moths, but have not eliminated my moth problem. There are a few problems with these traps. First, that the adhesive area has been shrinking. The adhesive used to cover most of the trap on two sides. Now the adhesive covers only about half of each side, so the trap fills much faster. Second, the adhesive isn't strong enough to trap every moth that is attracted, sometimes I see a pattern of dust of the scales of a moth that has successfully escaped the trap. Third, the trap has adhesive on two sides, but there is only one bait square per trap - the trap is most effective when the bait square is on the bottom. It would be better to have two bait squares per trap and adhesive covering the whole surface of the two sides of the box. Fourth, the bait doesn't seem to attract every moth. After spending hundreds of dollars on these traps and maintaining them throughout my house over a few years, I still have moths!Response From Perky-Pet®Tara : Consumer Relations Representative
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback, we apologize for this experience. We have shared these suggestions with out Product Manager. These traps use pheromones to attract the adult moths into the trap. Only one pheromone is needed per trap.

Natural & Organic Controls for Clothes Moths
Moth pheromone traps often called Clothes Moth Traps can help in controlling clothes moths.
Moth pheromone traps (clothes moth traps) can be used to alert you to moth problems and to monitor the level of infestation. Male meal moths are attracted to the pheromone and enter the trap where it is caught and cannot escape.
The trap should be placed in a clothes closet or area containing upholstery. Carefully read and follow all instructions completely for safe and effective use.
At the first sign of an infestation, place a trap in the home to monitor the level of infestation. Continuous monitoring is extremely important when you have a moth infestation to check the degree of infestation.
Why Choose a Natural Solution?
Natural solutions break down quickly to their natural elements. They are preferable to chemical pesticides that leave residuals where they are sprayed causing long-term detrimental effects on the environment.
Clean clothes, the vacuum, tight fitting storage containers, extreme heat, and freezing temperatures are all methods that can be used to control clothes moths.
Take clothes to the dry cleaners to have the dirt and perspiration removed. Vacuum carpets, rugs, upholstery, baseboards and any other areas that may contain clothes moths. The lids of containers used to store clothing or fabric materials should fit very tightly so the tiny hatchlings cannot crawl inside.
Extreme heat can kill clothes moths if the temperature is high enough -- something that may be accomplished by washing clothes above 120 degrees F. or placing them in a hot attic for about 30 minutes.
On the opposite end, freezing may also kill the clothing moth if the temperature is below 18 degrees F. and the material is kept at that temperature for several days. Note: If you are freezing woolen materials, be sure to remove as much air from the plastic freezer bag as possible.
Take clothes to the dry cleaners to have the dirt and perspiration removed when they become soiled or dirty. Vacuum carpets, rugs, upholstery, baseboards and any other areas on a regular basis, especially if you have noticed symptoms of an infestation.
When placing clothing and other materials in a container, carefully inspect the lid and the container -- the lid should fit very tightly so the tiny hatchlings cannot crawl inside - this should be done each time you are storing fabric materials, particularly woolen clothing and upholstery.
Extreme heat or freezing can be applied when you find larvae, eggs, or fecal matter on clothing or fabrics.
Indoor Moth FAQs
Q: Why are moths attracted to my clothes stored in my closet?
A: Larvae of the clothes moths cause the damage, feasting on clothing, mostly wool and fur clothing rugs, furniture. A female moth is attracted to clothing having food stains or perspiration. She lays eggs on the clothing. When the eggs hatch, the larvae feed on the fibers in the clothes.
