Review RateGreat Wasp Killer Without Poisoning the Ground
Safer Brand Wasp & Hornet Killer is definitely the way to go. I always hated spraying poison into or around my yard. Now, the last few times I've had wasp nests either hanging under eaves or underground, I've sprayed this mint-based product into the nest, and it has worked every bit as good as the awful poisons you can buy. The wasps disappear, and I don't have to worry about soaking my soil in poison.
Review RateHighly recommend
I use this on wasps that nest in my bluebird houses. It kills the wasps quickly and is safe for the birds (of course don't spray it on the bird itself, but the residue in the box is okay for the birds). Overall I recommend to anyone looking for a safer way to kill wasps and hornets.
Review RateDid what it says
It kills the wasps! It doesn't seem to effect the nest and doesn't prevent them from returning (but I was able to knock an unguarded nest down!)
Review RateIt works on direct contact
This definitely kills wasps, although it takes an awful lot pf the spray to take them down and it doesn't stop others from coming back. I do like that it's more natural since I have children. I'd buy it again.
Review RateIt works!
This product definitely kills wasp. The only unfortunate thing is that it doesn't stop them from coming back. I was also surprised at how much it takes to actually kill one. But, it works and it's safer than mainstream products and their awful chemicals, so I would definitely buy it again!
Review RateStill have wasps
Have used 2 of the 6 canisters of this stuff and no significant results...it's easy to aim and use. Unfortunately not that effective...easy to keep distance between sprayer and wasps...in all fairness, the wasps are located in an awkward space, under and between gutters and siding. Sprayed into cavity but wasps still entering and exiting...Seems direct contact is only way this works and that is difficult...Response From Perky-Pet®Tara : Consumer Relations Representative
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, we apologize for this experience. The wasp and hornet killer is designed to kill the wasps and hornets on contact. Once the nest is fully saturated wait at least 24 hours to remove the nest. If wasps, hornets, or bees are still active in the areas around the nest, we recommend to repeat the treatment.

Review RateEffective at killing wasps
Have used the mint Wasp and Hornet spray for years. Apparently this is the replacement. While it does the job, we do not feel it kills as instantly as the mint spray did. It will bring the critter down, but then you do have to swat it quickly before it recovers to send it on to its Maker. Still this seems to be the best alternative to harsh chemicals on the market.
Review RateI like the distance it shoots.
I have beams that are 15 feet above and can spray the spiders, etrc. that lay their eggs up there. I like it. The smell is good. .I don't want to be put on a dozen or more e-mail lists.

- All About
All About Wasps and Hornets Safer® Brand Wasp and Hornet Killer, Aerosol Controls
Wasps, yellow jackets and hornets can be found throughout North America in meadows, orchards, woodlands, playgrounds, cemeteries, and urban and suburban backyards. They vary in their nesting preferences. Although they all chew wood pulp to build their nests, yellow jackets generally locate their nests below the ground surface while hornets and other wasps build their large nests up in the trees. Giant hornets will also build their nests in attics or house walls.

- Control Options
Controlling Wasps and Hornets in Your Yard and Garden
Natural & Organic Controls
Yellow jacket/Wasp traps and wasp and hornet aerosols containing pyrethrin, d-limonene, palmarosa oil or mint oil appear to be the most effective control methods for these insects.
Pesticide-free traps contain food attractants instead of harmful chemicals. These traps should be placed along the borders of your lawn. When checking on them, be very careful not to get stung. Carefully read and follow all instructions completely for safe and effective trap usage. A non-poisonous aerosol spray that contains mint oil can be a very effective instant spot control product - and it has a pleasant mint scent!
Pyrethrin, d-limonene, and/or palmarosa oil sprays can also be used for instant spot control. In addition, they can be used to drench the nest or hive.
If you are attempting to spray a nest of wasps, be sure to wear a bee veil and very protective clothing which is closed at the cuff of pants and sleeves as well as the collar and belt areas so wasps cannot crawl under your clothes and sting you.
Spray from approximately 10-15 feet away or as far away as you can manage based on the position of the nest. Spray with the wind at your back. Carefully read and follow all instructions completely for safe and effective application.
Once a trap is set up, it will take about 24 hours to fully lure wasps & yellow jackets, so plan ahead if you're having a backyard party or outdoor event.
When treating a full nest, spray aerosol solutions after dusk or before dawn since these insects are dormant at night.
Why Choose a Natural Solution?
Natural solutions break down quickly to their natural elements. They are preferable to chemical pesticides that leave residuals where they are sprayed causing long-term detrimental effects on the environment.
Birds and other insects eat wasps and hornets, helping to control their populations.
Birds that eat both insects and birdseed may be able to be attracted to your yard through the use of birdfeeders.
Place bird feeders in the yard at anytime throughout the year, although the main time for attracting birds in hopes they will also go after the wasps and hornets would be during the late spring and summer when these insects emerge and are active.
Secured window screens and doors, tightly lidded garbage cans, and well-maintained orchards are all important in controlling wasps, whether they are yellow jackets, hornets or other types of wasps. Cold weather is a natural environmental control in itself, killing off the colony and possibly even the queen.
Check window screens and doors to make sure they are secure so wasps will not be able to invade your home. Once inside the home, they can enter the walls or attic and either overwinter or build their nests depending on the time of year.
Garbage cans without lids firmly attached can be a huge source of attraction for yellow jackets. Make sure that your garbage cans are firmly covered.
Remove any fruits that have fallen from your fruit trees, being very careful not to step in or disturb any yellow jacket nests in the ground.
Check windows, screens and doors in the spring and fall to check for nests or for overwintering female wasps. Every time you open and close your garbage can, make sure you have placed the lid on the can very firmly.
Pick up fruit when you find it on the ground under your fruit trees in your yard or orchard.
