Nesting Habits of the American Robin

nest

In the summertime, the American Robin builds a nest of grass, weeds, and mud.

After breeding, the female robin will stay on her nest and will only go to join the roosts after the eggs have hatched and the young have departed the nest to join the roost.

The female robin is capable of producing three broods per year, although not all young robins survive.
