Lyric® Delite Wild Bird Seed - 5 lb Bag

Lyric® Delite Wild Bird Seed

Looking for some no mess bird seed? The Lyric® Delite Wild Bird Seed is a high-quality, mess- and waste-free bird seed that birds love! The hulled seeds will serve more backyard birds while keeping the ground under your feeders weed-free.

This mix, which contains peanuts, sunflower seeds, pecans, pistachios and pumpkin seeds, will feed more birds than a 5 lb bag of bird seed that still has hulls and shells. Lyric® Delite mix is composed entirely of edible seed - that's 5 lb of bird food, and no messy hulls and shells.

The Delite Seed Mix keeps your yard clear of the weeds that seem to spring up under most bird feeders. Without their hulls, the seeds in the Delite mix aren't able to germinate.

Birds Love It By NGH2013
Our birds love this food. I mix it with black oil sunflower seeds and a nut and berry mix. Here in Northern California we have a large mixture of birds such as Dark Eyed Junco, White Crown Sparrows, House Finches, Titmice, Grosbeaks, Western Bluebirds, and Quail to name a few. I will continue to buy this non-waste food.

My birds and squirrels don\'t like By Child of Sea
I hope I'm doing the correct one, since I bought several different mixes from bird feeders. The consensus of my birds and squirrels if they do not like the steamed and pressed corn. My patio is covered with it. I would like to see a mix that is simply peanuts or peanut chips and sunflower seeds or sunflower chips and several other nuts - with no corn or millet. I like to feed a no mess feed and I don't care how much I have to pay, I just wanted to truly include foods that the birds will eat and not leave on my patio. I will continue to buy from theaters until I find the mix that I truly want. Prices are good and for the most part the birds and squirrels gobble it up. I just don't like the corn!

Lyric Delite No Mess Bird Seed - FAQs

Q: What birds eat peanuts or pistachios and other nuts?

A: Peanuts for birds? You bet!

With peanuts in your bird feeder, expect to attract Blue Jays, nuthatches, chickadees, titmice and woodpeckers! Chickadees will visit your feeders again and again without lingering too long. This isn't because they're super-hungry. Instead, they're flying away with your peanuts and hiding them to eat during cold spells.

Large birds like Blue Jays will eat pistachios and pecans whole. Small birds will simply peck away at these nuts, chowing down on them little by little.

While nuts can be pricier than other bird seeds, once you see how much birds love them you won't regret the switch.

Note: Squirrels and chipmunks also love nuts so find a feeder that is as squirrel-resistant as possible - we recommend The Breakaway - our most squirrel proof feeder with a life-time warranty.

Q: Can hulled seeds go bad?

A: Unfortunately, hulled seeds can spoil quickly in wet weather, high humidity or during hot spells. Our seed comes in a resealable bag with Lyric's patented StayFresh® oxygen absorber. This keeps you seed fresher for a longer period of time than standard bird seed packaging. Your Delite Seed Mix should be good for 3 months, but we doubt it will last that long.

If there's seed in a feeder during rainy weather, try to take it out of the rain during the worst of the wet weather. If seed gets wet it will need to be replaced, and the feeder should be dried well before refilling to prevent mold and spoilage.

Q: Should I feed birds in the summer?

A: Providing birds with a regular meal during the peak growing season is a great idea! They may need the meal as they migrate from their winter homes to their breeding grounds, and finding food in a feeder can conserve more energy than foraging. Throughout the summer birds are raising their young and preparing for their migration south and/or winter ahead. Offering seed in your feeder during this time is a wonderful way to care for and support the work birds have to accomplish in the summer time.
