Review RatePoor design of ports
After putting my bird feeder on the pole,I too found the ports to be a real problem. Unfortunately I have no other option than a pole feeder. It was only after I searched for replacement ports that I read the reviews, so disappointing!Response From Perky-Pet®Lauren : Consumer Relations Representative

BEST ON THE MARKET.
Review RateNOT Squirrel Proof
2 stars as the birds loved it, and it looks very nice! Otherwise 1 for the price of having a now useless feeder. We bought 2 feeders. The first was missing parts and I returned it. The second, well, the squirrel proof part did not happen. They have chewed out all the top flip ports, and we now have a new feeder with seed that drops to the bottom, and then all over the ground. Very disappointed after reading all the good reviews. It is sad that you do not offer the option to try a few replacement parts as we could probably keep the feeder an repair this. I no longer have the box to return.Response From Perky-Pet®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative

To reduce the impact squirrels might have on your feeders, we recommend hanging them at least 4 ft from the ground and 8 ft from launching points. Adding a bit of cayenne pepper to your seed mix will help too! These feeders are covered by our 30-day guarantee and a 1-year replacement policy. Review RateIt's good for about 3 years
I've always liked the Triple Tube feeder and have been using them for over 15 years. But they were better when Opus was selling them. Opus had a much better warranty and would replace defective parts. Since Woodstream Corporation bought the product line about 10 years ago, the quality and warranty have been reduced. If you want a feeder that will last a long time, stick to all glass and/or metal. These plastic feeders just don't last long.Response From Perky-Pet®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative

Review Ratebest feeder ever, but one little problem,
I think my Perky Pet Triple tube feeding is one of the best feeders that I've ever owned. But, The squirrels chew out the flip feeders and render the tube useless for storing the seed. If I can find the little plastic flip windows I can put them back in. But I can not find enough anymore to keep all the tubes working. Is it possible to order the flip port bubbles somewhere. this time I will glue them in place. And I do not have a way of hanging the feeder 12 feet away form any squirrel access. Thanks, Mike
Review RateNot a great feeder for the money
Poor design having plastic flip valve part for thistle is a bad design. Squirrels remove them and often cannot locate then the seed pours out. It’s a shame the triple tube 2 in 1 feeder 329 was discontinued it’s ports and flip valves were metal and squirrel proof! The 329 was top quality for a little more money than this product.Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateGood Product/Design flawed
This style feeder was mounted in my backyard when I bought my house. It's next to a screen of cedar trees. Began filling it, and both birds and squirrels arrived. Birds (Jays/Grackles) or squirrels chewed out plastic inserts allowing all seed to run out. Good for squirrels, expensive for me. Contacted the original company (prior to Perky Pet takeover?) and was told they offered replacement baffles, but were out of stock. When I didn't here from them, researched and discovered Perky-Pet was now the owner. Contacted Perky-Pet, and was politely told that there were no replacement inserts. Ordered a new feeder, basically for replacement inserts. Squirrels (despite cayenne pepper) and birds have chewed through the replacements. I am willing to purchase replacement inserts if Perky-Pet will read their customer comments and stock them. Otherwise, don't buy this product if you have squirrels or large birds (Jays).
Review RateThis feeder needs to be sturdier.
I really like this feeder but they don't last as long as other ones do. The bigger birds are really good at destroying the plastic tubes and pulling out the metal perches. I find that I have to buy a new one every two years.
Review RateNot Happy
The bottom tray on the bird feeder will not stay in place. The fasteners are flimsy and do not secure the tray. I have pitched the feeder and moved on the something else.Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RatePoor Quality Copper Finish Triple Tube Feeder
Liked the size of the feeder and the amount of food that it holds. As much as it is advertised as squirrel proof, it is not. Then squirrels get onto the base of the feeder and pull out the cheap plastic inserts at the feeder holes and then the birdseed all falls out to the ground. This happened in less than a month. Very expensive feeder that is useless after a month's use.Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
We are very sorry to hear of this experience! To keep squirrels off the feeder, we recommend hanging it at least 12 feet away from any squirrel launching pad (such as a tree, fence, deck, etc) and four feet off the ground. Mixing some cayenne pepper in with the bird seed also works well to deter squirrels as they can't stand the taste but it will not bother the birds at all.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What are the most popular bird seeds to use?
A: Black Oil Sunflower Seed is the most popular bird seed. It is much smaller than the traditional sunflower seed and best for those birds with smaller bills, such as the sparrow, junco and goldfinch. This seed is accepted by the greatest variety of birds.
Mixed Seed is also popular. It is best to buy the mixes that contain white proso millet, a tiny cream colored seed with a shiny shell. Mixes containing finely cracked corn and black oil sunflower are also preferred by a large number of birds.
Niger (Thistle Seed) is imported from Africa and Asia. Niger won't germinate, but it does have a tendency to become moldy due to lack of air circulation. If you notice mold on the seed, it must be removed from the feeder and the feeder must be cleaned thoroughly.
Q: How do I clean my bird feeders?
A: Before filling your feeder with fresh seed, it is recommended that the following precautions are taken:
- Remove all old seed.
- Soak feeder in water.
- Scrub feeder and allow to air dry.
- Rake and remove accumulated hulls and droppings from underneath the feeders.
- Spread mulch (bark or wood) under the feeder, replace mulch when soiled.
- Thoroughly wash hands after handling and cleaning feeders.
Q: What is the importance of providing water for wild birds?
A: Wild birds need fresh, clean water just as much as they need seed. Birds stay healthy by using water not just for drinking, but also for bathing, cleaning their feathers and to remove parasites. Waterers are better options than bird baths because they provide birds with fresh, clean water that prevents dirt and debris from contaminating it. In hotter climates or seasons, providing water for birds makes it easy for them to have access to a water source and retain their energy. By adding a water source, you also can attract a larger variety of birds to your yard. You may even attract more colorful birds that don't eat seed, but are in need of water!
