The metal lid starts leaking and it rusts inside which isn't good for the birds. Its too bad there are no replacement parts so you don't have to throw out the whole thing

Bought two of these and when cleaning with water for first time use they both leaked where the top joins the bottom base. There is no gasket just a loose fit between the two. What an inferior product. Will take back and hope to get a refund and buy another brand.

The part covering the nectar is brass (metal) and is oxidizing. What do I do to keep the nectar safe for the hummingbirds?

It is a beautiful hummingbird feeder, but in the year since I bought it, it has started to leak more and more. Now it will not create a seal, no matter how much I tighten it. I see from previous questions that Perky-Pet does not have replacement parts so I will buy a new feeder from a different manufacturer.

If I could give this feeder ZERO stars I would. Perky Pet, please read this. First...I love Perky Pet products and have purchased many of their feeders and food over the years. This feeder, though very attractive, leaks out of the bottom and the hummingbirds don't want anything to do with it. They land, take one look at the holes (which are brass rivets) and fly off. I even removed all of my other feeders to try to force them to use it. But they just refuse. One reviewer here even took the time to make several modifications to the feeder's glass and plastic components. :-l My hat is off to you, but I don't have the time, skill, or tools for this. Today I called the (855)737-5973 Customer Service number. I referenced the Model number and all of the complaints on this site. The Rep gave me many suggestions - "Don't hang the feeder in sunlight because the fluid will expand and leak, don't hang it in the breeze, give it a few days and the birds will get used to it." Blah, Blah, Blah... I explained that the problem is NOT the way all of us are using the feeder - It is a DESIGN issue. He finally offered to send me a replacement...but will only ship me the same model!?? PERKY PET - Could you please replace this for me with a different feeder? Thanks!

This pathetic device leaks as the bottom pieces do not fit together properly and the humming bird feed pours out the gaps. All hat and no cattle as it is pretty but useless.

My favorite feeder. It's not perfect though. I had to modify it to work properly. The nectar didn't want to go down into the base as the birds were drinking it. I had to grind the glass and cut the plastic to keep the level of the nectar up higher in the base. I wish the glass vessel was bigger because the birds can drink it empty in 3 to 4 hours. There are slight signs of rusting but it'll never come into contact with the nectar so I don't think it'll be a problem.

Birds like it....but there is NO WAY to stop the leaking out the bottom. Design flaw. I confirmed that it's screwed on tight, and to test "the vacuum" out of the wind, like the manufacturer says it needs to be in response to all the bad reviews, I filled it with water, and hung it over a bowl inside the house. So, no wind, no sun, and all leaky. Very pretty, but it does oxidize over time, and the glass is impossible to clean unless you soak it in CLR or some other agent. Way too late to do a return, so I'll have to pitch the two I bought.

I would give this a zero star rating but that is not an option! I bought this on sale at my hardware store and my hummingbirds won't use it! They fly up, take one look and fly off! I guess I will go back to a cheap plastic one!

Love the appearance of the product. Purchased at Home Depot, However This design leaks between Copper lid and feeder base in any breeze that may come thru the trees spilling nectar on ground inviting unwanted pests. Bummed.
