Although I love the look ...

Although I love the look of this feeder…I found a bird had worked its way INSIDE it through the feeding holes, couldn’t find its way out and the poor thing died. ????????. Please make a revision for it.
Tricky to fill but very popular amongst the birds

This bird feeder is fairly annoying to fill and doesn’t ever “fill” all the way so it looks half empty even after filling. HOWEVER, I have six different bird feeders on my property and this is far and away the most popular so I would recommend it.
seeds get wet hard to refill if not empty

Dont like this because seeds all get wet
Fab Feeder / Little Messy to Hang
May 10, 2022
"My birdfeeder brings all the birds to the yard
And they're like, it's better than yours"
I love this birdfeeder for it's compact size and for the number of ports that allow multiple birds to feed. I get all types of birds at this feeder and it's a huge success in my front yard.
The only caveat is that it is a bit messy to hang, but once you figure out your own method you will spill less seed on the ground. (Not that I mind because Chippy the Chipmunk likes the extras)
Outstanding Bird Feeder

Outstanding Bird Feeder with one exception. The bottom perch attached to the feeder base by a metal rivet tends to get loose over time making it difficult for birds to remain stationary while feeding. To resolve this issue I simply drilled out the rivet and replaced it with a small stainless steel bolt and used a lock-nut to secure it in place. It now works perfectly with no movement of the perch. Also, when filling with seeds, first completely fill the base and the inverted jar. Next take a 1/4 paper towel sheet and firmly hold it over the jar bottom while placing it back on the feeder base. Gently pull out the paper towel out and screw the jar in place. Very few seeds are lost this way and your jar is now full. This technique truly works every time.
Disappointing Feeder

I’m disappointed with this feeder. 1. It half loads with seed so it empty’s quickly. 2. Seed is lost rapidly with the large holes creating considerable waste. 3. The squirrels quickly devour the seed. Even the deer get their tongues in with such easy access. I’ve stopped putting it out. I’d like to turn it into a water holder for birds.. but sadly they don’t sell the base separately. There’s much better feeders. Id suggest you choose another.

Easy to use.

I bought two of these. Really easy to fill. And the birds can easily get to the seeds. I hang them from bungie cords. Which makes it difficult for squirrels.
Nice feeder since it's glass and not plastic

I feel this feeder is not big enough. I have a lot of birds and this does not hold enough seed . If you made it with a screw top it would be easier to fill and hold more seed.
When you fill it and tip it over to screw the bottom feeder on, it's half full.
You could have more feed in it if you fill it from the top.
A few design flaws.

I wish I had kept my store receipt! This feeder is pretty, and I liked that it's glass. However, as others have noted, filling it is not the easiest. Have to wait for the base to be completely empty, or you dump a lot of seed on the ground. (Field day for the squirrels and chipmunks!) Really needs a cover, or rain gets in. The glass --- of course --- is freezing on the hands when the weather gets cold! The minute you fill it, it's half empty, because the seeds just pour into the base. Where they get wet. Using black oil sunflower seeds in it. Can't imagine using smaller seed. The one plus: ground-feeding birds (cardinals, juncos) are using it. But I'm going to buy another tube feeder like I used to have. (Paper wasps built nests in the one I had -- and left unprotected, never expecting nesting to happen-- and I couldn't get them out.)

Thank you for this review! Because this feeder is made of glass, we do recommend bringing it inside during particularly inclement weather, to prevent the seed reservoir from breaking if the feeder were to fall. Birds like to feed in sunny areas that are protected from the wind, so careful placement should help prevent the seed from getting wet. More of a question before buying
Sep 8, 2019
Hello, I have a question. I'm very interested in this Perky Pet Mason jar feeder. However... I do have one concern, that would be the metal base. What type of metal is this made out of? I had a Perky Pet glass hummingbird feeder that I had to discard after a year because of the rusty metal base! I'm concerned that this metal base will do the same thing and rust also. I'm hoping this metal base is made out of galvanized steel or stainless steel. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks.
