Review Rate1st time using this feederwe bought this feeder and we cant get the birds to eat out of of it not sure what were doing wrong any help and advice welcome.
Review RateGreat for mixed seeds but there's a trick to it.This is a good inexpensive bird feeder. After a little trial and error (and some spilled mixed birdseed), I finally figured out that you have to tilt the port at an angle into a "hooded" position. This keeps the birdseed from flowing out but creates that little window for feeding. Clear instructions or a video showing this would have been very helpful.
Review RatePoor designTerrible feeder. The ports will not let the mixed seeds through unless they are open. The when open all the seeds fall out! I had one similar last year that did not have movable ports but tiny ledges to hold the seeds from falling out. I believe it was the same brand it was much better. This is junk. Guess I will fill it with finch food and keep ports closed. Poor design for sure.
Review RateDisappointing - DON'T PURCHASE IF YOU WANT THEM TO LASTWe purchased two of these at our local Walmart. One to use immediately and one to use later should we need it. Well, we had the first one up not even a week and we had to start taking the perches out of the spare because they keep breaking. Not sure what was causing them to break but within 2 weeks we had no perches from the one we never used. We've used these for years and they've lasted at least a couple years. Very disappointed with the current ones as they didn't even last two weeks. Now we have no bird feeders and will need to look for a different brand. Very disappointed.

Can you use a mixed finch food that will go through the small hole? Nyjer seed is good but would like more of a mixed finch food. Let me know. Thank youResponse From Perky-Pet®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative

Versatile! The ability to change from sunflower seeds to thistle is great!
Review RateGreat feeders for what they are...
I have been feeding birds and other wildlife for more than 40 years. These are low priced feeders $4.59 at Home Depot (even a little less at Walmart if you can find them.) Buyers need to understand that these feeders will not be as durable more expensive feeders. Still they are very effective for what they are and they have their uses. My goldfinches and chickadees love these feeders. I use them for just for sunflower seed. I have never had a problem with the sunflower seed not dropping down into the feeding holes, or the sunflower seed falling out onto the ground, as some here have mentioned. As to why I like this feeder: Even though I take my feeders down at night, I still have an occasional bear that wanders by during the day. Often they will simply carry off these feeders. At under five bucks this is not a big deal. I just put up another. I much prefer to sacrifice one of these than a high end feeder. I'm very grateful Perky Pet makes these low priced feeders. They work fine - They're not squirrel or bear proof of course and buyers shouldn't expect that - Nor should buyers imagine that these feeders will last a lifetime. Still, they're excellent for what they are.
Review RateOkHave these feeders in my yard yes they could be put together better.
When i get them i put clear tape around top under hanger so hanger stays put.
I find these last about 18 months and woodpeckers are very hard on them .
Have many bird species very heavy use here live down south.
Should things be made better yes unless you buy very expensive feeders this is what to expect . Have a few very expensive ones but they have their cons too when it comes to squirrel raiders. They do not like tube feeders.
I have learned to work around these feeders
and the weak points .
I'm ordering a few more today just my 2 cents.
Review Ratestupid idea
You can't leave the ports open for mixed seed, because all of the seeds fall out all at once into the dirt!!! Might as well just feed the birds off the ground.Response From Perky-Pet®Jules : Consumer Relations Representative
Hi there! Thank you for your feedback! This feeder does have the option of switching the ports to finch feeder ports, which has much smaller openings, which helps to keep the seeds in. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know what you think about this feeder. We have passed your comments on to our Product Managers for review.
Review RateCrappy item
I bought this one from Walmart, got home and put bird seed in it, happily hung it up and the next day found it on the ground busted apart, the plastic hanger......broke, the tube came apart and seed spilled all over, I am not even going to waist my time taking it back was not and is not worth the $3.94 at Walmart to do so. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE, And I am werry about buying any of the other products this company makesResponse From Perky-Pet®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative
