I am totally disappointed in this and other PerkyPet hummingbird feeders. They RUST - poluting the nectar for the hungry birds.
Perky-Pet DOES NOT offer replacement parts! The feeders are garbage now. SAD!!

Bought this for the pretty red mason jar, but the metal part of the base rusts on the inside after a year of use, turning the nectar rusty and brown, even when cleaned and nectar changed every 2-3 days. Very disappointing. Looks like many others have had same problem. Wish there was a plastic replacement base for these so we didn’t all have to throw in the landfill after a year or less of use. My last feeder has lasted over 15 years. (Plastic base).
Love this feeder!

Love this feeder! My hummingbirds LOVE it and I keep it clean and filled with fresh homemade hummingbird water for them all season. I HIGHLY recommend for hummingbird enthusiasts who want a simple way to keep the birds coming back!

The base rusts which then impacts what you are feeding the birds. We've tried spray painting the base and yet after a day or two I can still see the sugar water have a rust colored tinge to it. Will never buy another.

Pretty to look at, but over time the "inside" of the bottom feeding part, where their tongues would reach into, rusts and becomes rough. No replacement available. Will only purchase plastic bottom feeders from now on.

The hummingbirds flock to this feeder. However it leaks badly. Very disappointed with the way the base fits together. If I had my receipt I would take it back. Dont buy if you want to be disappointed.

I love the red Mason like jar. I purchased it when we lived in an area that had a lot of hummingbirds. Now we are closer to town and have far fewer, so I don't need the large container. My base is still fine, but the paint around the flower ports has started flaking. The flowers are also made of a metal which is hard. Because we don't have the huge number of visitors and our temperatures have been flirting with or topping 100ºF for several weeks and no end in the forecast, I only put about a quarter cup of nectar in the base every day or two. It isn't leaking which is the only reason I'm still using it. The others leak when I just fill the base. I have purchased another one with softer petals at the ports. I wish replacement parts were available for this feeder. I like the red jar much better than the jar that came with the newer one, so at least they are interchangeable. I might take the hanger off the new jar and use it for something else. I would not recommend the feeder with the red jar due to the hard metal flaking flowers on the base for the feeding ports. I'm hoping the base of the one with the clear or greenish tint jar will last longer.

What a beautiful looking hummingbird bird feeder. That is until the base rusted. Which is too bad because it was only used for months last year. I noticed it when I went to clean it after the first fill this year. The syrup turned rusty brown. Certainly can’t use it this way. And after reading other reviews, it looks like this is a reoccurring problem.
Goes to show you, looks can be deceiving.

I thought I was going to love this one. I had actually had it filled 7 minutes ago but then around the whole outside lip it looked like Niagara Falls as soon as I flipped it up to hang it on my shepherds hook. I tried to redo the base to make sure that I had it on properly and still Niagara Falls. I am sticky, and confused. I used it last year for a couple of weeks and it was fine. I washed it up with my others and stored them with the others and yet it's not okay?!?! My other one like this one has a gasket around the edge. Maybe I should have just stuck with that brand.

Rusting Only used it one summer because the metal has rusted. Is it possible for your company to sell replacement parts, like a plastic bottom for those type of feeders?
