Woroth the squirrel trouble. By Lizzie

I love the Perky Pet bird feeder and that is why I am willing to continually replace the seed ports. I keep the feeder away from any squirrel launching pads but now they climb the metal pole to get to the feeder. I finally started waxing the pole. The seed ports are a little difficult to install; in fact I only use the doors not the entire seed port.

Hello Lizzie,

We appreciate the time taken to provide this feedback and apologize for the experience.

The replacement ports arrive with an outer ring to protect the port during shipping.  This outer ring should be removed before inserting the new port.

Adding cayenne pepper to the seed or using safflower seed in the mix can help to repel squirrels.  We hope this tip helps.  Please give our Consumer Relations Team a call at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) with any additional questions.

Work Fine-But NEED to be Metal By FatherLenny

We have (2) feeders that used these pieces. They work perfectly and with no issues, but unfortunately we have had to purchase a LOT of them. The Squirrels and Raccoons chew on them until they are so damaged the fall out. The rest of the Feeder is Built very Sturdy, so I don't understand why these aren't made of Metal as well. As long as they are soft Plastic, they should offer these as FREE replacements, like they used to....

We appreciate the time taken to provide this feedback and apologize for the experience.  This suggestion will be shared with our Product Managers.

Additional measures can be taken to deter squirrels from feeders.  We recommend placing them at least 5 feet above the ground and 10 feet from the nearest launching point.  Adding cayenne pepper to the seed will not affect birds, but will repel squirrels.  They also dislike safflower seed which is a good source of nutrition that attracts a wide variety of birds.

Please give our Consumer Relations Team a call at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) with any additional questions.

Exactly What I Neededed By Mariele53

I had no idea that seed port replacements were available for my Perky-Pet Copper feeder. I have been duck taping the ports where the plastic shields were missing. Thank goodness I found Perky-Pet website and the replacement seed ports .I did have to call customer service to ask how to change out the port because there were no directions in the package. It was a Saturday morning and customer service was friendly and told me exactly what I needed to do. The ports were easy to install and my feeder is like new now!

Direct replacement and relatively easy to replace By SWE38

Straight-forward to replace in the triple tube feeder after you remove the metal bands. I agree with others that they should be sturdier. My solution is to hang the feeder where squirrels can't get to it. Mine is now hung on a pulley system from a horizontal pole attached to the soffit. The pulley system makes it easy to raise and lower the feeder. I do think the newer port design with the flip-up door is a big improvement over the previous design if you want to change from large seed to thistle.

This replacement part is wonderful but now ludicrously expensive By Tom

I fee squirrels and bird and the squirrel will quickly chew these seed ports and pull them out of the feeder rendering them useless since seeds will quickly flow out of the feeder. In 2015 these were 52 cents a piece and now two years later they are 99 cents a piece. It is not justified to increase the pricing so much. It would be nicer if these could be made of metal instead of plastic so that they are not destroyed so rapidly. But this price increase is not justified. I have probably bought 250 of these through the year. Please drop you price.

Please re-design the ports for this bird feeder! By Birdlover in Sheboygan
I bought the triple tube copper colored feeder for which these replacement ports are designed. I took off the decorative copper colored ring and that made it easier to replace the ports. I'm gluing them in this time! Please redesign this feeder with metal, permanent ports! I know it will add more to the price, but the extra price is worth not having to hassle with lost ports. I love the oversized hood and lower seed tray.

Replacement parts By Bird
I was pleased to be able to order seed port covers for my triple tube feeder. I was disappointed that the base for that same feeder was not available for purchase. You still make the feeder and hence the base, but you do not sell separately.

Q&A
Q.Will these fit an Opus Topflight feeder?
A.

Yes. This port will fit in the Opus feeder that is identical to our model 7103-2 Perky-Pet® Copper Finish Triple Tube Bird Feeder.

Q.how do I replace the seed port covers?  I cant get the damaged ones out!
A.

When replacing the seed port covers, we recommend to first remove the replacement covers from the round plastic ring. This ring is used to protect the port cover during shipping. To remove the port cover from the feeder, pop it out of the round port that is attached to the feeder.

Q.What hole size do these inserts fit ?
A.

These ports will fit the 3/4th inch hole of the 7103-2 feeder.
