Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone® Max Bird Feeder with Flexports®
Offering maximum protection against squirrels and maximum comfort for your favorite birds, the Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone® Max Bird Feeder with Flexports® is the feeder you’ve been searching for. To offer defense against squirrels, this feeder offers a Sure-Lock™ cap and a weight-activated Seed Shield™ so squirrels can’t gain access to the seed supply. In addition to its squirrel proof features, the Squirrel-Be-Gone® Max is also a favorite of birds. It also includes four feeding stations with our patented Flexports®, which offer 5-in-1 benefits for birds and you. With its rustic powder coating, this feeder will make a charming addition in any backyard setting.
Squirrel Proof Seed Shield™
To offer defense against squirrels, this feeder boasts multiple great features. First, is the feeder’s weight-activated Seed Shield™, which is calibrated to support the weight of birds but not squirrels. When squirrels try to gain access to the perches, the ports close off under their weight. Birds can sit on every perch without activating it. In addition, the Sure-Lock™ cap prevents squirrels from lifting the lid, while the metal frame discourages chewing around the ports.
To ensure a 100% squirrel proof feeder, placement is key! Hang the feeder with at least 18 inches of clearance on all sides so squirrels can’t easily reach the ports without activating the Seed Shield.
Flexports® Offer 5-in-1 Benefits
Our patented Flexports® offer 5-in-1 benefits for birds and you. The unique design is 4X more shake resistant than standard Perky-Pet® ports so there’s less seed waste – which means money saved and fewer messes on the ground! The design also allows birds to feed at an optimal position outside of the port, offering improved visibility so they feel safer and visit the feeder longer. Because birds are more comfortable, you’ll get more birdwatching time overall!
Perches Fit Small & Large Birds
With less competition from squirrels, birds won’t be able to resist the Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone® Max Bird Feeder! It features four feeding ports so multiple birds can dine at the same time and you can enjoy a better view. The feeding stations also boast ladder-style perches to accommodate birds both large and small!
Attractive, Rustic Design
Birds and bird lovers alike can’t deny the charm of this delightful feeder. The rustic-colored feeder is paired with a decorative seed reservoir that will look at home in any yard. In addition, the metal is finished with a powder coating to enhance the rustic look, while also ensuring rust resistance.
Easy to Clean
Cleaning and filling is an effortless process thanks to the feeder’s convenient design. This feeder features a removable lid and wide-mouth seed reservoir so you can easily get to every nook and cranny. To remove the lid, simply lift the Sure-Lock™ cap then twist the lid frame to unlock and remove the lid completely.

Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone® Max Bird Feeder with Flexports®
Received this feeder as a gift a little over a year ago. It worked fine until recently when the seed began pouring out each time a bird came to eat. I reached out to the company and all they offered was a 15% off coupon. If you read the reviews all the customers complaints are the same regarding the worn out gaskets. They need to either come up with replacement parts, fix the problem or stop selling it. In the meantime, I have this large feeder that is perfectly intact except for the gaskets that I can no longer use. 😡
Thanks for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience with the feeder. While replacement gaskets are not available separately, we understand how frustrating it is when the feeder is otherwise in good condition. Your comments have been shared with our product team, as feedback like yours helps us evaluate future product improvements. We appreciate you giving the feeder a try and regret that this experience has impacted your confidence in our brand.

It’s a great feeder except for the gaskets that wear out causing all seed to fall to the ground. The company is aware of the problem because of the similar customer complaints and yet they offer no solution other than a 15% off coupon. So, now I have a feeder that is intact except for this issue and they expect me to buy another from them? They lost me as a customer and I will be sure to encourage others not to buy this defective feeder. 😡

Gotta say that I was in love with your bird feeder when I first bought it. But it has a design flaw. The waxed/plasticized wire that supports the top cover easily gets stripped of the plastic thereby allowing the container to slip down from the top cover. That exposes the container to air and allows squirrels to enter the container from the top. This has happened with each of my Max Bird Feeders. I just bought another Max Bird Feeder at Home Depot and within 2 days the same issue occured. I'd like a new top cover be sent to me
We're sorry to hear about your experience, and we appreciate you sharing this detailed feedback. The issue you described with the coated support wire is not the experience we want for our customers.
Unfortunately, the top cover for this feeder is not available as a replacement part. We recommend reaching out to our Consumer Care team with proof of purchase, as they can review your feeder for warranty eligibility and discuss the options that may be available. Your feedback has also been shared with our product team, as comments like yours help us improve future designs.
Thank you for giving Perky-Pet another try, and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your experience.

I purchased this product at ... Menards

I purchased this product at Menards for $40. Initially, this was a great feeder, at the third week, the squirrels had it figured out and all of the flexiports were chewed off and the seed just poured out. I'd been meaning to research if I could get replacement flexiports and came to this site only to find out that, no, no I can't get replacement flexiports.
This seems Perky Pet dropped the ball on a critical replacement part for the feeder; which for everyone has become a piece of junk as it's now unusable.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear about the damage to your feeder and understand how frustrating it is when squirrels find a way to get to it.
The feeder is covered by a 1-year warranty, and based on the issue you described, it may be eligible for replacement. Since we do not offer replacement Flexports for this model, we recommend contacting our Consumer Care team by phone at 855-737-5973, so we can review your warranty options and assist you further.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and thank you for giving the feeder a try.

Well-built model that requires some maintenance and gerry-rigging for years of service

It's a well-built model that withstands a lot of use (and abuse from animals). With proper maintenance and some gerry-rigging, I've gotten years of service from two of them. Prob a good value for under $40, but the flexports could be made of stronger material. After my flexports wore out, I taped off & closed two feeding stations. Then, I inserted a small wooden block in the bottom spring-loaded area to keep the ports permanently closed off by 75%. Use only big sunflower or safflower seed. Problem solved. Birds can still feed without all the black oil sunflower seed spilling onto the ground. Squirrels still are an annoyance. The replacement part I need is the plastic O-ring near the top of the feeder that has been chewen on and broken due to squirrels and even deer pulling or knocking this feeder down to the ground. I've also had to super glue the plastic body of the unit a few times, but it continues to function.
Why are they still selling a product that they don't support? The flexiport will fail quickly and they don't sell replacement parts. Only a coupon for 15% off a new product. Lame.
We're sorry to hear about your experience. The Flexports® are designed to help protect seed and promote a more comfortable feeding experience for birds. While replacement Flexports® are not available separately for this model, we appreciate your feedback regarding parts availability. To help extend the life of the feeder, we recommend regular cleaning and handling the ports carefully during maintenance. Your comments have been shared with our team, as customer feedback is important in helping us improve our products and support options.

Quality design; flex ports do wear out @ year 2; no replacement flex ports are sold

We purchased your 334 fleeder for about $40. The first two years it performed just as promised! HOWEVER, after year two the flex ports began to fail, and seed now pours right out. Squirrels DO chew the flex ports as they hang upside down. I would love to by another, but I'm out. Please, please consider selling replacement flex ports. This feeder is too excellent to have such a critical part fail. Please offer replacement ports; then I'd be a customer for life. So would our birds. Thank you.
I had high hopes for this feeder and it served quite well during the first year, however, sometime in the second year , the Perky-Pet 'Flexports' wore out thus nor longer retaining the feed. In fact, the port is so large that seed flows right out. essentially it has become a means of distributing feed on the ground
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear the feeder performed well for you during the first year, but we’re sorry to learn about the issue you encountered later on.
We appreciate your feedback, as it provides helpful insight into long-term performance.

Love this feeder. Large size reduces the number of refills per season. My squirrels are no longer an issue. Super easy to fill and attractive. I've had many other feeders, but none as good as this one!
We do not offer replacement Flexports® parts for the Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone® Max Bird Feeder. If you need help with your situation, please get in touch with us so we can review your case and see what we can do to assist you further.

Do squirrels nibble those "flex-ports"?
Question by: Linda Atkinson on Apr 12, 2026, 3:28 PM
Great question! This feeder is designed to help prevent that issue.
It features a Weight-activated Seed Shield™ that automatically closes access to the feeding ports when a squirrel’s weight is applied to the perches. When that happens, the ports are blocked, so squirrels can’t reach the FlexPorts themselves.
Because the ports close off under heavier weight, squirrels don’t have the opportunity to nibble on the FlexPorts.
Answer by: Guillermo (Admin) on Apr 13, 2026, 11:39 AM
How does the weight activate mechanism work. It just sits on the bottom of my feeder
Question by: Bruce Burckhardt on Jun 30, 2026, 11:59 AM
Thank you for your question. The weight is designed to sit on the bottom of the feeder and does not attach to anything. When a squirrel or other heavier animal climbs onto the perch, its weight causes the perch base to move downward. This movement blocks the feeding ports, preventing access to the seed. When the animal steps off, the perch returns to its normal position, reopening the feeding ports so birds can feed normally.

I RECEIVED 334-ISR today with no instructions on how to open the top, add feed, and close the top. PLEASE HELP ME!
Question by: LAURA CROCKATT on Mar 30, 2026, 4:00 PM
To open the Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone® Max Bird Feeder with Flexports® (Model 334-ISR), start by lifting the Sure-Lock™ cap on top. Then, twist the lid frame to unlock it and remove the lid.
Once open, you can easily add seed through the wide-mouth reservoir. After filling, place the lid back on, twist it to lock, and press the cap down to secure it.
Answer by: Walter Sandoval (Admin) on Mar 31, 2026, 10:09 AM
I feel quite dumb but can’t figure out how to get the lid to sit flush on top of the feeder. It’s suspended about 2-3” above the top. Help!
Question by: Crista Nordyke-Long on Jun 10, 2026, 9:51 PM
The lid on the Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone® Max Bird Feeder with Flexports® is designed to lock into place. If it is sitting 2–3 inches above the feeder, it is likely not fully engaged with the locking mechanism.
To secure the lid, first remove it completely by lifting the Sure-Lock™ cap and twisting the lid frame to unlock it. Then place the lid back onto the feeder, align it properly, and twist the lid frame until it locks into place. Once locked, the lid should sit flush against the top of the feeder.
Be sure the Sure-Lock™ cap is lowered after installation to help keep the lid securely locked.
