What are the most popular bird seeds to use?

Black Oil Sunflower Seed is the most popular bird seed. It is much smaller than the traditional sunflower seed. It is best for those birds with smaller bills, such as the sparrow, junco and goldfinch.

You will need to sterilize your seed to prevent it from germinating. This will not alter the attractiveness or the nutritional value of the seed in any way. Some store-bought seed will already be sterilized and will often state this on the packaging.

To fill the Perky-Pet Squirrel Stumper Wild Bird Feeder, hold the feeder securely and twist the top lid counterclockwise to unlock and remove it. Once the lid is off, pour the bird seed into the seed tube, then place the lid back on and twist it clockwise until it locks into place. The feeder uses a twist-lock lid design to help prevent squirrels from opening it.
