I got this as a replacement to a perky pet pinecone design and while this one the lid stays on, somehow the top part of the tube cracked and it slide down and food went everywhere. It was never dropped. No idea how that could have happened. I have hot glued it together and used zip ties to keep it together, we will see how it holds up.

Love this feeder except for the fact that it takes me 20 minutes to get the lid off and then back on. I wish there was a video. I will go back to Home Depot to see if someone can teach me. I want to buy 6 more. My old feeders I had to fill every single day because the squirrels would eat most of the food.

I have had this feeder for 4 days. So far so good, I have a band of terrorists attacking my feeder, squirrels. They are very smart, this is the only feeder they can not open. I am happy for that. The one design flaw, no perches for the birds. I know they can grab the wire cage but I have not seen my Chickadees feed from this feeder, doesn’t mean they aren’t feeding. If I do not see them within a week I will be looking for a different feeder.
Please put perches at the feeding ports.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the Perky-Pet® Squirrel Stumper Wild Bird Feeder. We’re glad to hear it’s helping keep squirrels out. Smaller birds like chickadees can cling to the cage to feed, but it may take a few days for them to adjust to a new feeder.
Placing the feeder near shrubs or cover and keeping it filled with fresh seed can help attract them more quickly. We appreciate your suggestion regarding perches and will share it with our team.

There is no landing stick for the birds to rest on. They are unable to grasp the wire and are unable to feed on it. It is completely useless!

We have tried every squirrel proof bird feeder out there and even tried to make our own using baffles. Nothing worked until we found this Perky Pet Squirrel Proof Bird Feeder. No more pesky squirrels eating all of the birdseed meant for birds not squirrels! We have two and plan on getting more. Thank you for a great product!!!!

Had this at the place I moved into was an older one ( western WA state) rinsed it out, filled, attracted stellar jays , finches, and other like a junkie in the alley behind a circle K.bottom was rusted so squirrels would MI3 it from above an shake the fillings to the ground while munching on it. It would be drained in less than 3 days. Bought a new one tossed the old. Bottom is about 6ft off the ground , 2 ft from the tree, 1ft chain length below a branch,added a baffle right above the lid. It's been over a month and still is 1/4 full, the jays don't like the baffle but the others don't seem to mind it.

The day after I put this feeder up, the squirrels feasted. If anything, the cage gave them something to hang onto, so they could pull the feeder closer and eat more. Not worth the money at all. If there was a lower rating than one star, this feeder would get it.

I accidentally placed my review For the incorrect feeder, the squirrel stumpers is the one I have. The lid is not very secure And it blew off in high winds... Can I get a replacement? Thanks!

How did you get that bird in the picture to balance and eat seed from this feeder? None of the birds in my backyard can get near this lousy feeder. Thank heavens I have several feeders in my backyard for them. Too bad I can't give this one a zero rating. It is terrible.
