Absolute favorite for goldfinches and chickadees. Keeps yucky birds away. I have many of both, all year long,

I really hope this feeder is available again. It is the best I've found to limit to feeding goldfinches only.

I can't rate this at all.....no birds even after 2 months & of course, Nyger seed. I have lots of songbirds, etc. & always have good attraction to my other feeder. Input, anyone?

It does work, if you give it time.

When I first put up this feeder, for weeks, I thought I had wasted my money. None of the finches could figure out where the feeding hole was. I also had the standard feeder up, but I was going through 2 lbs. of nyjer seeds every day and most were on the ground! I finally stopped putting seeds in the standard feeder and so their only option was this feeder. Within 2 weeks they started to figure out how to eat. Some still can't and some of the bigger finches can't. I add about 1 lb. every week now instead of every day. I have no waste on the ground. Also, with the standard feeder, the rats would visit it every night; not with the upside down feeder.

I bought 3 of these - birds do NOT like

I bought 3 of these. Gave my Mom 1 and I put 2 out. Finches will NOT use them.... What happened to this feeder, but with the birds eating in an up-right position? My finches LOVED that style. What I liked about this feeder design is that there is a port at the very bottom, so ALL seed is eaten, and none is left to rot like with other styles of feeders.

We're sorry to hear about this experience! Birds are creatures of habit and can take some time to adjust to a new feeder. You may want to try relocating the feeder to another area in your yard. We also offer a variety of different finch feeders here: https://www.perkypet.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=finch The feeders are covered under a 30-day return policy. Please contact us at 855-737-5973 for assistance. - Rachel

it's the stick shift of bird feeders

It's amazing to see a feeder with only the desired birds using it...it's the stick shift of bird feeders (not every bird can use it) ! Our garden is full of Lesser Goldfinches!

Gold finches won’t eat upside down

The gold finches come but won’t eat upside down. They jump over to the wild bird seed feeder instead

Birds can take some time to adjust to new feeders. Placing them near a fresh water source can help them find the new additions faster. We are sorry that they haven't yet started using this feeder regularly and hope they learn to love it soon!   Best regards, Susan
Upside down tube feeders are the very best.

Upside down feeders are great. I had goldfinch within 24 hours. Gave another one to my neighbor who just recently began feeding birds. We have both been entertained by the antics of the finches & finding pleasure in watching the color changes of the males. Thank you for such a great feeder (and conversation piece for visitors).

Still a great deal for only feeding finches.

While it is an economical a d efficient way to feed only finches, it could use one improvement. It should have a canopy. This would reduce the seeds thst get wet spoiled from the rain. If it was built better, I would pay the extra money for it.

Gold Finches love it

I've had this for years...actually several over the years. I get this to last for two to three years with careful handling. The gold finches swarm to it. They love it and since it is an upside down feeder the other birds don't steal the food. Gold finches are fun to watch. I recommend this.
