Review RatePROBLEM SOLVED!!
Bluebirds love mealworms but so do others. Open tray feeders were an invitation to every bird in the neighborhood, especially Starlings and Blackbirds. Ten worms were splashed on the ground for every one they ate! I discovered this feeder by accident. Bigger birds (or squirrels) can't get a grip. It is perfect for the bluebirds and those cannibal sparrows don't seem to like them. The vertical slats hold in the worms but make it fairly easy to get at them and there is very little waste. Cleaning and refilling is easy. Sturdier material might be nice but I will take the trade-off. My local hardware store charged me $25 for one. Shop around or buy online!
Review RateI shall put this to good use.
You folks do a very good of shipping. It arrived in excellent shape and I can't wait to use it. Here in central CT I start feeding the birds Nov. Ist. The birds are able to secure food until this time unless there is an early snowfall. Can't wait to try it.
Review RateKeeps the mealworms fresh!
Excellent mealworm feeder keeps them from getting wet and molding. I gave it 4 stars because it could use to be twice as large with 4 ports instead of 2:) Otherwise, great improvement to my feeder that is open to the elements!
Review RateNice, well-built feeder, but, the birds don't seem to like it.
Nice, well-built feeder, but, the birds don't seem to like it. After several weeks, I haven't seen a single bird on it. My meal-worms may be the problem. I'm using some that I bought a year ago & when I rub them between my fingers there's nothing but dust. I don't know if this is normal or not & haven't had a chance to but a fresh supply.
