Review RateInexpensive place holder
It was 'affordable' ..But in comparison to my current Niger feeder. (a wild birds unlimited item) also yellow, Yours is a Cheap imposter. Mine is of Cast Aluminum ends with a powdercoat finish. Rather than stamped metal with a prechipped paint job. All of it's hardware is Stainless, steel hanger hoop included. Your unit's feeder Screen is of Coarse inexpensive looking mesh. Likely The feeder will work... for a while. While I by necessity will refurbish my original. Again; yours was affordable... so no real complaints. But Had I seen/held it beforehand I would not have bought it.
Review RateSeems pretty durable
I like this feeder. I looked a long time to find one the squirrels wouldn't tear up in 5 minutes! This one seems pretty durable, as long as you make sure the lid is on tight. It unscrews maybe a bit too easily. I put mine under a squirrel baffle for double protection. Now waiting for the finches to find their new food source. I've not had one out for them for a few years due to the squirrels destroying every one I put out, so they've deserted my yard.
Review RateMesh too large for thistle.
Like construction and birds like mesh, but hate that it dumped more than half the seed on the ground. Very wasteful.Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
Thank you for providing this feedback! We are very sorry this occurred. It is normal for seed to fall through the mesh openings during the filling process. To help prevent seed waste, we recommend filling the feeder over a box or anything that will collect the extra seed during this process.
