Review RateBeautiful but poor base designI feel bad for rating it a one star because it really is beautiful but agree with all others, the base needs redesign and i worry about the hummingbirds feeding out of it after a while, i cleaned the base thoroughly and i could see the paint peeling off.

Review RateRustsIt’s a nice looking feeder had lots of hummingbirds, but then the base of the hummingbird feeder started to rust, the second batch of sugar water turned orange. I have since removed the rust, but the hummingbirds are gone. Did the exact opposite of what I was looking for.

I agree with most comments. Looks great easy to clean and refill. The downside was the rusting and with that the Hummingbirds don’t want to eat out of it. Review RateGreat build. Troubling materials.
I love the shape of this feeder -- it is very sturdy and has places for birds to perch. The hummingbirds love that, too. But over time the back of the metal flower lid erodes. The taste of the nectar gets tainted and smells very metallic. I feed hundreds of hummers but the birds stopped coming to this feeder because the METAL BOTTOM portion RUSTED and left the food unpalatable---can't blame them! I also am having issues with the bottom portion rusting. I called customer service and they were super nice and willing to replace the feeder with a comparable one with better reviews. I appreciated the good attitude and the great customer service.
I have the same rust problem with the base of the glass and metal hummingbird feeders. I have two of them purchased this summer. When the hummingbirds avoided these feeders, I opened them to clean and replace the liquid. The remaining food was brown and the feeders obviously rusted inside.
