Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone® II Country Style Bird Feeder
Have fun watching everything from finches and blue jays to juncos and cardinals when you add this Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone® II Country Style Bird Feeder to your yard. Its designed with weight-activated perches that keep squirrels and even larger problem birds like blackbirds from getting to the seed, but the real standout point for this feeder is its country home-style look. The cutout shapes let the seed show through the windows and doors, and the bright red color adds a classic touch to your outdoor decor.
Squirrel-Proof Design
To offer defense against squirrels, this feeder boasts multiple great features. First, is the feeder’s weight-activated perch, which is calibrated to support the weight of birds but not squirrels. When squirrels try to gain access to the seed, the ports close off under their weight. Birds can sit on the perch without activating it. The sensitivity can also be adjusted to keep out larger nuisance birds. In addition, the weathervane lid lock prevents squirrels from lifting the lid, while the metal frame discourages chewing.
To ensure a 100% squirrel proof feeder, placement is key! Hang the feeder with at least 18 inches of clearance on all sides so squirrels can’t easily reach the ports without activating the perch.
Durable and Versatile
This Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone® II Country Style Bird Feeder has an all-metal construction designed to stand up to the weather and squirrel invaders. The metal is powder-coated in a bright red eye-catching color and provides enhanced rust resistance and durability. This feeder can be hung or pole mounted for versatile placement anywhere around your yard.
Attractive, Rustic Style
Birds and bird lovers alike can’t deny the charm of this delightful feeder. This unique feeder is styled after a country barn, complete with a bold red finish, galvanized metal roof, and windows. The roof-style lid is even topped with a traditional weathervane, which conveniently locks the lid in place.
Easy to Clean
Cleaning and filling is an effortless process thanks to the feeder’s convenient design. The removable roof and large opening make this feeder easy to fill with up to 8 lb capacity of black-oil sunflower seed, mixed seed, hulled sunflower seed, or safflower seed. Cleaning the feeder is also easy! We recommend cleaning the feeder at least every two weeks and regularly checking the seed to ensure it is free of insects and mold.

Have had for years and years. Absolutely love it. I just place pole far enough away from trees so squirrels can't jump to it. I'm sad I broke the lock nut for the cap of the roof a couple days ago. Other than that, super sturdy and easy to clean. Sounds like customers have had good luck with customer service so I'll give them a call next week.
Loved the feeder until I hung it up.The squirrels climb on the roof and the cardinal weather vane piece eventually rotates 90 degrees, then the squirrel forces their head under the roof and the roof falls off. At this point it’s a banquet of feed and they eat until their hearts desire! I suspect they’re napping afterwards.
We're sorry to hear about this experience! Make sure to lock the weather vane to prevent this from happening. Instructions on how to do this can be found under the "Resources" tab. Additionally, you may want to try and hang your feeder at least twelve feet from any tree trunk or limb and at least four feet up from the ground. This will prevent squirrels from either jumping from the tree or up from the ground onto the feeder.

I bought a feeder similar to this one from "Walmart, had your hang tags on it. Has a chimney that screws on the top of the roof, to hold the cover on. squirrels are always a problem for me. they did not get the way to get to the seed by hanging off roof, I had to blow a noisemaker, to get them down. now they do not bother with it, I have feeder in back yard with hood under feeder, that they cant get to it. Guess they now decided that they would go up one of the three pine trees, I have in back of my house, and eat the seeds that the chick a dee store under the bark. everybody is happy here. holds lots of seed, no need to shovel a trail with every snowfall, does get blown full of snow, which melts and blows off, I use a suet block container, and hang it to the side of handle, so they always have something to eat. so far I beat them.!
I got one of these wonderful bird feeders for Christmas and being in Northeast I did not open and inspect it until recently in April. there was a broken weather vane. I wrote to them to see if they would replace the piece not really expecting anything as it was a gift with no receipt. They not only responded within a couple of days, they sent a new one immediately!! What a pleasant surprise in this day and age of no customer service!!
Putting this lovely feeder up this weekend!!
Thank you for sharing this feedback. We recommend cleaning this feeder in a mild soap and water solution after the lid has been removed. Use a gentle scrub brush to get any hard to reach areas. When hanging or mounting the feeder, be sure that it is not too close to launching points, otherwise squirrels may circumvent the weight activated perch and attempt to feed by sitting on the roof.

The squirrels have learned to hang down from the top and eat
Squirrels are able, by fiddling with the cardinal screw friction closing top, to push the medal roof off and enter the feeder top. Also, they are able to push in the front see through “windows” to enter the feeder. The feeder has been a dissapoiintment.
We are so sorry to hear about this Bill! Squirrel baffles are another great way to help stop these pesky thieves from reaching your feeders. The sloped, slick surface gives the squirrel nothing to cling to and they will often slide right off. Please feel free to contact us directly for additional tips.

Not squirrel proof.

Not squirrel proof. They will hang upside down from the roof and eat. The smaller squirrels sit on the hinge and chew a hole in the windows to get the seed out
We are sorry to hear that squirrels have found a way around the weight activated perch. Relocating the feeder further away from their launching points should help to deter these determined critters. Please feel free to contact us directly for additional assistance. - Susan

I was so looking forward to get this adorable birdhouse up in our yard....unfortunately there is no way to get this house straight...my husband attached it to the pole according to the instructions and it still tilts backward...I am so disappointed in not only the appearance, but that the birds don't go to it to feed either.

I was looking to replace a new feeder that the squirrels destroyed in less than 2 weeks. This feeder is well made, and the squirrels have not been able to damage it!
