I bought my first bottle of Bird Health+ pre-mixed hummingbird nectar today at a local retailer. I hadn't hung my feeder all summer. Came home and poured some into my feeder, hung it, and before I could close the bottle and sit down, a beautiful little Ruby Throated hummingbird was taking a sip!

I thought this would be great - especially for me, but my hummingbirds didn’t seem to go for it, unless it was the other feeders were empty. I have several feeders throughout my yard, so I tried different ones, but nope. When the Hooded Orioles arrived back in town I put it in their feeder, since they always drink the hummingbirds’ food, but even they didn’t go for it. So I am back to my 1 part sugar + 4 parts boiled water solution.
At first, the hummingbirds would not go near it. Then, they tried a little and did not like it. It became gluey very quickly. The contents are not what I will use for my hummingbirds. There are some beneficial additives but just as many that are not. Do not advise using this and the hummingbirds do not like it.
Wonderful product. My only problem is with the plastic container. It is so flimsy that three of the bottles in my order had tops that had been mangled in shipping and were almost impossible to open. Otherwise, I would have given it five stars.
I started buying their nectar from Walmart at first when I was first getting into feeding hummingbirds but one day they stopped selling. The many hummingbirds around my home loved this stuff to the point that when I got another brand they were put off by it but, I mean, a bird is a bird and they'll like it too eventually but I did notice not as many came around; they were practically fighting over the More Birds brand.
So with that sign I decided to pull out a the receipts and find the More Birds brand online and bought 6 jugs of it so I wouldn't run out for a while. Started putting out More Birds and they were back to fighting over it once I gave them the good stuff it seems.
Not to mention, the packaging was pretty decent, the put it in two boxes which definitely saved it through shipping because it got some punctures and dents from handlers dropping it I'm sure. But regardless, it was also padded with bubble wrap inside wherever there was empty space so the containers wouldn't shift around and bust open too easily.
Good job at providing nice hummingbird options for bird enthusiast, More Birds! Also you seem to be the only people providing clear solutions in my area so that's a big plus for me! But, uh, the purple solution... what's up with that?
