Squirrel-Resistant Design
Our weight-activated Seed Shield™ automatically closes the ports to keep squirrels and larger birds at bay. You can customize the perch’s sensitivity with three weight settings, ensuring that only your feathered friends can access the food. The Sure-Lock caps prevent squirrels from lifting the lid, while the powder-coated metal components ensure durability and provide extra protection against squirrel damage.
For maximum squirrel resistance, hang the feeder with at least 18 inches of clearance on all sides so squirrels can’t easily reach the ports without activating the Seed Shield™.

I'm TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED with this product! NO WHERE ON THE BOX DOES IT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT NEEDING A 2.4 internet NEEDED! I received 2 of them for a Christmas gift so NO I haven't put them out until now ONLY TO FIND OUT MY INTERNET THAT IS A 5G AND A 2.4 IN ONE WON'T WORK FOR THEM!! I FOUND THIS OUT AFTER I TEIED FOR A WEEK TO GET IT TO CONECT TO MY INTERNET. I CALLED THE "HELP LINE" ONLY TO FIND THIS OUT! SO I ASKED THE MAN WHAT I WAS TO DO AND HE SAID THAT I COULD JUST USE THEM WITHOUT THE CAMERAS! REALLY THESE BOTH ARE OVER $100. EASY! THAT'S RIDICULES I TOLD HIM! If my family would haven't have boughten them if they would have known that! I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE! YOUR "HELP LINE " IS A JOKE ! THEY TOLD ME TO GET A DIFFERENT INTERNET SO THEY WOULD WORK! REALLY??? I COULDN'T GIVE THEM NO StARS FOR THE RATING OR I WOULD HAVE! AGAIN I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED!

The feeder does require a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection, as this type of connection provides better range and stability for outdoor devices. Many routers that combine 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz can still work, but they may need to be set up to connect specifically to the 2.4 GHz band during the pairing process. I have enjoyed using the Perky-Pet Smart Camera Squirrel-Resistant Bird Feeder to get a "bird's eye" view of the details of my feathered friends. The audio, video, and still shots are outstanding! Patience is needed as it takes a few days before the birds start investigating the new feeder in the tree, but once they are through their investigative stage, they become regular customers at the feeding tray!

We don't have squirrels in our area to worry about. I am wondering how lock the feeder open so that blue jay's and flickers can access it. Right now, no matter what setting i use, it is still too sensitive for birds larger than finches and chickadee.

Some larger birds like blue jays and flickers can trigger the Perky-Pet® Smart Camera Squirrel-Resistant Bird Feeder because the sensitivity setting is intended to deter squirrels, not limit larger birds. There isn’t a way to lock the feeder fully open for larger birds without reducing its ability to resist squirrels — the sensitivity adjustment is the only setting provided. You can try the least sensitive setting and make sure the feeder is mounted on a sturdy pole or bracket so it doesn’t move when birds land.

Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please Check if red light is on – if not, or if red light is flashing, use a different charging cord, charging the Camera takes 2-3 hours, The Red Light will go off once fully charged.

Can’t even get a live picture now. Just spinning. My other bird feeder [ different brand) had NO issues with live feed, pictures , of videos. It’s definitely your product.

My question was how do you charge the battery initially without a charger? There was not a charger in the box or a site where one could be purchased. I would think a charger would be provided since it has different connections. Or do you just have to depend on the solar panel to charge the battery?

Thank you for contacting us. The feeder you have includes the USB cable, but it does not include a charger so you can adapt it to the one that best suits your needs.

Where do I see the type of bird named? It says AI is supposed to recognize it, but I don't see anything in the app.

The Perky-Pet® Smart Camera Squirrel-Resistant Bird Feeder uses AI to detect activity at the feeder, but it does not label bird species in the app. The AI only recognizes that a bird (or other activity) is present so it can send you a notification when that happens.
