What are the most popular bird seeds to use?
Question by: Kathryn Tator on Oct 23, 2020, 12:10 PM
Black Oil Sunflower Seed is the most popular bird seed. It is much smaller than the traditional sunflower seed. It is best for those birds with smaller bills, such as the sparrow, junco and goldfinch.

How do I prevent seeds from sprouting under my feeder?
Question by: Kathryn Tator on Oct 23, 2020, 12:13 PM
You will need to sterilize your seed to prevent it from germinating. This will not alter the attractiveness or the nutritional value of the seed in any way. Some store-bought seed will already be sterilized and will often state this on the packaging.

How do I reattach the bottom piece to the feeder? One of the squirrels knocked it off the nail and the bottom popped off. Model number 385-2. Thank you!
Question by: Gwen Fox on Apr 23, 2025, 12:21 PM
Thank you for reaching out regarding your Model 385-2 feeder.

If the bottom piece has come off, please check to see if it can be realigned and pressed back into place. This particular model does not have screws and is likely designed with internal clips for reattachment. Carefully inspect the inner tube and bottom piece to ensure that no parts appear broken or cracked.
