I'll keep it as a backup to other feeders but will likely not put it out much By JohnDoughser

I liked this feeder in the store but have been disappointed in it. The base does not come apart for cleaning. When I put it out on my porch the first bird that came to it looked at each flower without feeding then landed on the railing below and stared at it a few seconds and then flew off. I thought maybe it was the perches so I closed them. At the same time I found air was in the base and there may not have been necter in there at the time. birds fed freely after that. I always keep my feeders out of the sun and have NOT had any leaking.

LEEKS, and just a bad design for cleaning! By KatieLu

Have had this feeder a little over a month, it LEEKS around the adjustable perches. Do not buy this feeder!!!

Response From Perky-Pet®
Patty : Consumer Relations Representative

We apologize for this experience and appreciate the feedback.

When the bottle is tightly secured to the base, and the feeder is turned upright quickly to create a vacuum, it should not leak.  Hummingbirds often prefer to feed in shaded, sheltered environments.  Placing the feeders in the shade where there is little to no wing will make the hummingbirds happy, as well as help prevent leaking.

Can't open it! By hikerss

Don't buy this model! It cannot be opened for cleaning. I'm worried about my birds since I don't know what's inside the feeder.

Response From Perky-Pet®
Patty : Consumer Relations Representative

We appreciate the time taken to provide this feedback and apologize for the experience.

The base of this feeder is one piece.  To aid in cleaning hard-to-reach spots, we recommend adding some uncooked rice and warm water into the feeder, covering the opening, and shaking to loosen any missed spots.

Feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) with any additional questions.

Cleaning problem By Bozo

Just bought this feeder and I see that the bottom section does not separate for cleaning out the reservoir. That part collects the most sludge and needs thorough cleaning often. I will return the feeder unused and try another brand. The feeders need to have easy cleaning access.

We appreciate this feedback and apologize for the experience.

Our feeders are covered by a 30 day return policy and a one year replacement warranty.  Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) for additional assistance.

great addition to my patio By Jeep girl
The hummers found the feeder in minutes and prefer it to the non-perch feeders.

Not happy By Moberglake
I have had this for less than a yr. barely used it only if I had to add another feeder for more hummers. I took it out of storage and one perch would not come out upon turning knob on bottom. So I was ok with just using 3 openings. Last night took it apart to clean and thought I would unscrew the bottom to see if I could fix the 4th opening. I see that one was broke. I tried to put it back together for at least 15 min. and finally decided that I am either going to throw it or see if I can can a replacement. Truthfully I don't want it but the glass won't fit any of the other feeders I have had for years. I am so mad that they no longer have these which were so easy to fill, clean and hang. Why do you do that? If it ain't broke, don't change it!

Good feeder By DebbieN5977
I buy one every few years. I like this type as it has the perches and its glass. The only thing i wish could be made better is the yellow flowers as they end up breaking off.

Q&A
Q.Does this feeder need to be filled to the top? I usually fill only a few ounces at a time since it is 110 degrees out here in the desert. I'm afraid of the nectar getting mold or fermenting to quickly because of the weather. I don't want to get the birds sick, so I change the nectar every 3 days. If I don't fill the feeder to the top, will it leak?
A.

The feeder does not have to be filled to the top.  However, it is easier to get a good vacuum inside (and prevent leaking) when it is fuller.  We recommend changing the nectar and cleaning the feeder daily when temperatures are above 88°F to avoid fermentation.

Q.How do you unscrew this feeder. Are we supposed to undo the metal screws?   The base refuses to move!
A.

The screws on the bottom of the feeder should not be removed. They keep the perches in place. To unscrew the feeder, twist the seam between the flowers and perches. It should separate into two halves.

Q.I ORDERED 3 OF 476-3 THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO UNSCREW ALL THREE WILL NOT COME APART WHAT DO I DO?
A.

The base two halves of the base should easily separate when twisted apart. If this is not the case, we recommend contacting our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) for additional assistance. The screws on the bottom of the base do not need to be removed.
