This glass hummingbird feeder with its patented reversing funnel cap is so convenient, filling it is a breeze! You and the hummingbirds will love its large nectar capacity. The Perky-Pet® Adjustable Perch Glass Hummingbird Feeder features a reversing funnel cap (makes filling and cleaning easy), a tempered clear glass nectar container, four sculpted flower feeding ports with bee guards, and a 20 fl oz nectar capacity. Remember to clean your glass hummingbird feeders at least twice a week, more often in very warm climates or seasons.
Very disappointed. I was so excited about my new feeder - love the size and the retractable perch feature. But I can’t get it apart to thoroughly clean the base. Without being to clean it properly bacteria will build up and create mold which will kill hummingbirds. I did read below that it can be unscrewed and taken apart but that is extremely time consuming and ridiculous since I have to change their feeder every day in the hot temps.
We're sorry to hear the feeder has not met your expectations. The base is designed to be disassembled for a more thorough cleaning when needed by carefully unscrewing the flower ports and separating the components. For routine nectar changes, many customers find that rinsing the bottle and base with warm water and cleaning the feeding ports with a small brush is sufficient between deep cleanings. In hot weather, replacing nectar frequently is important, and we appreciate your feedback regarding the cleaning process as we continue to evaluate product designs.

Terrible!

Terrible! Cannot be cleaned properly! I threw it away. I will not risk a dirty feeder for my hummingbirds! Every other feeder I have, the base comes apart for easy cleaning.
I’m sorry to hear this feeder didn’t meet your expectations. Keeping feeders clean is essential for the health of hummingbirds, so your concern is completely understandable.
For clarification, this feeder’s base unscrews into parts, allowing access to the reservoir for cleaning. It separates horizontally below the bottle—between the perches and the flower ports—which should allow for a more thorough clean than it may first appear.
That said, we understand that not all designs feel intuitive, and we truly appreciate your feedback. Ease of cleaning is an important feature, and your input helps highlight where improvements or clearer instructions may be needed.

Seemed Great at first.. liked the size and the perches.. BUT.. it doesn’t come apart for cleaning!
I figured out a way to bend a straw cleaner.. but it’s hard to tell if it’s clean, when I can’t see inside!
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Perky-Pet® Adjustable Perch Glass Hummingbird Feeder. We’re glad you enjoy the design and perches. To clean the base thoroughly, we recommend filling it with warm soapy water and using a long, flexible brush or pipe cleaner through each feeding port. Rinsing with a mild vinegar solution can also help remove residue and maintain a clean feeding environment. We’ll share your feedback about making the feeder easier to disassemble with our product development team.

Nice to look at and funnel is a cleaver add in, until you realize how required it is to fill the bottle. Second, as almost everyone has said - CANNOT be cleaned. Very bad design for a bird company.
We're sorry to hear this feeder started leaking! The design has not recently changed, but feeders can leak if they are hung in direct sunlight. Please contact us at 855-737-5973 with any questions, we're happy to help.

Not the best design compared to other products.

Oh my gosh! I haven't worked this hard to clean any hummingbird feeder before. I tried to unscrew the base to clean it well even using a small screw driver. No luck. I ended up using dish soap and filled it up and rinsed it for quite some time till the water ran clean. I had already worked for 15 minutes to get the flower ports screwed back in. I thought they would just pop in like my last feeder. Then I worried that they might come loose when the birds are feeding. So I screwed them in as much as I could. I was exhausted when it was all done. My last Perky Pet feeder was so easy to clean. I agree with others that the opening on the bottle is impossible to clean without buying new brushes. I also have been trying to find replacement ports for when these get moldy. No luck at all. Going to call customer service to explain all these problems with it.
Thank you for sharing this feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience with this feeder. Removing the screws from the bottom will only gain access to the perch mechanism and not the inside of the base. We do not recommend removing the screws. Replacement parts are not available for this feeder. It has a one year replacement policy. Reach out to us via the Contact Us page for assistance.

I like the overall design and ease to clean the inside of the base but...the narrow opening of the bottle and angle of the glass makes it almost impossible to clean. Rinsing alone just doesn't cut it.
As stated by other customers, very very disappointed that the base of this hummer feeder does not come apart to clean. I really thing this is a QC, design flaw, BIG MISTAKE. Who tested this feeder? Anyone who feeds hummers knows that the base MUST come apart in order to clean the black mold that inevitably grows on hummer feeders. Can't get away from it. Never did I think to "test drive" the base to see if it comes apart on a feeder from Perky Pet. Assumed, unfortunately, that Perky Pet would automatically know to have the base be able to come apart for cleaning purposes. I would not recommend this feeder. I think it should be pulled from the market. Poor, poor design.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, it has been shared with the Product Manager. For hard to reach areas, such as the base of this feeder, try using handful of uncooked rice. Fill the feeder with a solution of one-part vinegar to four-parts water, add the rice and shake vigorously. Dump the rice and rinse thoroughly and it's ready for new nectar.

Was forced replace my feeders after a midnight attack by raccoons!! So, I got two new ones - love the size and retractable post option - and one for a gift.
We're sorry to hear that the feeder is leaking! Be sure to check that the base is tight, and that the bottle neck threads line up correctly to help prevent leaking. It is covered under a 30-day return policy and a 1-year replacement policy. Please give us a call at 855-737-5973 for assistance.
Can the Adjustable Perch feeder base be disassembled for cleaning?
Question by: Joe Ford on Jun 10, 2023, 10:23 AM
The base of this feeder is not able to be separated for cleaning. Removing the screws on the bottom will only gain access to the perch mechanism. We do not recommend removing the screws in this feeder.

humminbirds are coming up to the feeder but not drinking from it. Wondering if the perch isnt the right distance away... I have the common small plastic feeder and they seem to drink from that one no problem (same food, cleaning, etc). Looking to trouble shoot!
Question by: Brett on May 31, 2025, 2:40 PM
Ensure ports are clear and perch is aligned properly; try adjusting the perch height slightly or removing it to see if birds prefer direct access.

Question by: Laura on Aug 3, 2025, 10:12 AM
Hi, thank you so much for that information. We're so sorry to hear the mechanism isn't working. There should be a screw, and you need to make sure it's properly in place.
