Review RateLove this product, as do the birds.
This is the third feeder we have had in over 20 years. It is attractive and easy to convert to be used as a pole mounted feeder. (We use a pvc pipe to keep the squirrels away from the seed.) Shipping time was FAST!! Love this product, as do the birds. K. H. Cedar Hill, MO

Review RateChristmas Gift
Got this as a Christmas present for my father this year. He had asked for a different brand but I thought this one looked better. I was right, my father loved this and declared he would buy more of them. Thanks Perky-Pet
Love it! This bird feeder is made to last. The large dome top protects the seeds from rain dripping down. Very easy to fill with built-in funnel on top of tubes. Can be mounted on a pole or as a hanging feeder. The birds love it. Thank You
Review RateGreat Feeder!
This is a wonderful feeder that will last and last. It is our 2nd one and the only reason we have to replace the 1st one is because my wife ran into it when she was mowing - BUT I was able to fix it up so we could still use it. Long lasting and little waste. Great feeder.
Review RateNot squirrel proof at all
The squirrels were able to get to my wonderful new (expensive- hubby paid almost $100 for it at The Wild Bird Store in Mpls.) and they’ve torn off and chewed most of the little plastic caps that keep the seed from falling out! I’m super sad...Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
We apologize for this experience. To deter squirrels, we recommend placing the feeder at least ten feet away fromlaunching spots, such as trees or decks, and at least five feet above the ground. Ading cayenne pepper to the seed also works well as it will not affect the birds (since they have no sense o f smell or taste) but will repel the squirrels.

Review RateBrid feeder

Review RateQuality construction
Bought a new triple tube feeder last fall. A bear visited us in July. Damaged the feeder pole but not the feeder. As long as everything was down I decided to take apart the feeder to give it a good cleaning. I've had this type feeder before and taking apart was never a problem. But this time I couldn't get the feeder put back together. The girl at Perky was very understandable and helpful. I bought a new feeder and they were kind enough to give me a discount for the new purchase. Lesson from all this is don't take this type feeder apart to try and clean.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What are the most popular bird seeds to use?
A: Black Oil Sunflower Seed is the most popular bird seed. It is much smaller than the traditional sunflower seed and best for those birds with smaller bills, such as the sparrow, junco and goldfinch. This seed is accepted by the greatest variety of birds.
Mixed Seed is also popular. It is best to buy the mixes that contain white proso millet, a tiny cream colored seed with a shiny shell. Mixes containing finely cracked corn and black oil sunflower are also preferred by a large number of birds.
Niger (Thistle Seed) is imported from Africa and Asia. Niger won't germinate, but it does have a tendency to become moldy due to lack of air circulation. If you notice mold on the seed, it must be removed from the feeder and the feeder must be cleaned thoroughly.
Q: How do I clean my bird feeders?
A: Before filling your feeder with fresh seed, it is recommended that the following precautions are taken:
- Remove all old seed.
- Soak feeder in water.
- Scrub feeder and allow to air dry.
- Rake and remove accumulated hulls and droppings from underneath the feeders.
- Spread mulch (bark or wood) under the feeder, replace mulch when soiled.
- Thoroughly wash hands after handling and cleaning feeders.
Q: What is the importance of providing water for wild birds?
A: Wild birds need fresh, clean water just as much as they need seed. Birds stay healthy by using water not just for drinking, but also for bathing, cleaning their feathers and to remove parasites. Waterers are better options than bird baths because they provide birds with fresh, clean water that prevents dirt and debris from contaminating it. In hotter climates or seasons, providing water for birds makes it easy for them to have access to a water source and retain their energy. By adding a water source, you also can attract a larger variety of birds to your yard. You may even attract more colorful birds that don't eat seed, but are in need of water!
