I have purchased 2 of your more recent country house feeders made in Thailand. Horrible! The roof does not latch properly so birds and squirrels enter feeder and eat their fill. The quality of this poorly made product is awful and you should consider using a different manufacturer next time. I bought 2 because I thought the first was a mistake or fluke. Nope, both poorly made!

Great American Ingenuity! It is actually quite entertaining to watch the circus act squirrels have to go through to get a morsel from this feeder! They really have to work at it and don't get much. Unlike aesthetically pleasing, "hi-tech", plastic feeders designed by nerds with auto-cad, this one actually works well, is practical, and makes sense. I picture the original being crafted by a handy farmer as a winter project. Details like little dimples on the acrylic window to hold it snug are impressive. Manufacturing in China is well done. I bought this because I wanted a robust, high-capacity feeder that could also exclude most unwanted visitors. For Christmas I received a Bird Buddy feeder whose claim to fame is the inclusion of an AI enabled, solar-powered nature cam (basically ring doorbell technology). That part is very cool, but their feeder is worthless. I took the guts out of if and modified my Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone II Country House Wild Bird Feeder to get the best of both worlds. Works great!

I gave it one star only because I can not give it zero stars. I have been purchasing perky pet feeders for years. I have this one that I have been using for six years and it is finally looking sad. I purchased a new one and it is nothing like the quality of my original. The sleeve for pole mounting is half the length of the previous one and as aa result it does not sit securely on the pole. The roof is a joke in that it is thin and does not fit correctly on the house. If this is how you are now downgrading your products, I will not be purchasing yours any longer. Very sad!

The lid on this unit is junk! Good luck taking it off and especially putting it back on securely! Not at all like the original model!

I just received my new Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone Red Country House Wild Bird Feeder and disappointingly it is 1. missing the pole mount hardware, and 2. the cardinal on the top just lays over on its side with no way to have it stand up. I bought this one to replace an existing Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone Red Country House Wild Bird Feeder that is just over 5 years old and is showing its age. I will return this one to Amazon, but I was hoping to put it out today. Since I have to return this one, I cannot give a good recommendation, and I give 2 Stars as the quality of the rest of the unit is nice- it is just not usable as received.

I bought 2 feeders 4-5 years ago & I LOVE it!! You MUST select a spot where squirrels can’t drop down from a higher tree branch or climb up from the ground. I dug a hole, filled it w/cement, put a 4”x4”x10’ square fence post down in the cement, surrounded the post w/HVAC aluminum venting, the squirrels/raccoons can’t get a grip. At the top of the post, I drilled a hole, inserted a metal bar (making a “T”) & hung several feeders from that bar. This feeder is great. They love it! I have about 10-12 species of birds visit my back yard. Our neighborhood is heavily wooded, so we have lots of breeds of birds you don’t usually see like Woodpeckers, Cedar Waxwings, Eastern Bluebirds, Goldfinches, tons of Cardinals, Bluejays, Robins. That’s just a partial list! You do need to tilt the feeder to encourage the Serbs to slide down toward the opening, but the birds can usually get at the seeds. I have noticed that rust has formed in different places on the feeder, but that’s to be expected. I love that it holds a LOT of seeds so I don’t have to get the ladder out to refill as often as I do for the other feeders. I highly recommend this feeder; but location, location, location is the key to keeping squirrels/raccoons away! I highly recommend this feeder.

I purchased this feeder about 6 mo ago and have had no luck with birds eating from it It’s placed in an established area where I once had cardinals and other birds galore and now - nothing. Very disappointing.

Looks great! It's an adorable design. The adjustable weight perch helps keeps the heavy doves off and allow the lighter finch's to feast for a change. Squirrels will try to mess with it, but usually go to an easier snack spot. However one very determined squirrel was eventually able to pull off the roof, we lost the locking nut when that happened and aren't able to find a good replacement. But with a baffle it helps slow down the squirrels. Being metal it also lasts a lot longer in the weather and doesn't break if it falls.

Made well, but not squirrel proof by a long shot. Squirrels hang upside down from roof and feed away.
