It also includes six feeding stations with our patented Flexports®, which offer 5-in-1 benefits for birds and you. With its rustic powder coating and decorative pinecone-themed design, this feeder will make a charming addition in any backyard setting.
Squirrel Proof Seed Shield™
To offer defense against squirrels, this feeder boasts multiple great features. First, is the feeder’s weight-activated Seed Shield™, which is calibrated to support the weight of birds but not squirrels. When squirrels try to gain access to the perches, the cage closes off the ports under their weight. Birds can sit on every perch without activating it. In addition, the twist-lock cap prevents squirrels from lifting the lid, while the metal frame discourages chewing around the ports.
To ensure a 100% squirrel proof feeder, placement is key! Hang the feeder with at least 18 inches of clearance on all sides so squirrels can’t easily reach the ports without activating the Seed Shield™.
Flexports® Offer 5-in-1 Benefits
Our patented Flexports® offer 5-in-1 benefits for birds and you. The unique design is 4X more shake resistant than standard Perky-Pet® ports so there’s less seed waste – which means money saved and fewer messes on the ground! The design also allows birds to feed at an optimal position outside of the port, offering improved visibility so they feel safer and visit the feeder longer. Because birds are more comfortable, you’ll get more birdwatching time overall!
Six Feeding Stations Fit Small & Large Birds
With less competition from squirrels, birds won’t be able to resist the Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone® Max Pinecone Bird Feeder! It features six feeding ports so multiple birds can dine at the same time and you can enjoy a better view. The feeding stations also boast multi-height perches to accommodate birds both large and small.

Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone® Max Pinecone Bird Feeder with Flexports®
This bird feeder was great for the first six months, but its durability is disappointing. The plastic feeding ports have worn down and widened, causing seeds to spill constantly.
I came here looking for replacement ports, but like many other customers, I've found they aren't sold separately. It's frustrating that a company marketing products for nature doesn't seem to prioritize reusability. Instead of offering a simple replacement part, the only option is to buy an entirely new feeder, which is wasteful and costly. Please make replacement parts available.
We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone Max Pinecone Bird Feeder. The Flexports® should remain durable and secure, so widening or wearing down over time can lead to the seed loss you’re seeing. We understand how frustrating it is that replacement ports aren’t available, and we’ll share your feedback with our product team. Please contact our Consumer Care Team at 1-855-737-5973 so we can further assist. We’re available Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 7 PM EST.

This product lasted approximately a month. The “flex ports” (plastic/rubber flaps at openings) fell out. The feeder no longer holds seed.

The flexible feeding ports are designed for comfort and durability, but damage can occur over time with weather exposure or heavy use. When the flexports are in the birds love it. They tend to pull them out though. They need to be redesigned to be more secure.
I glued mine in with plastic model glue and they seem to be holding.
This is not a good product and the company is not a good company. I had the bird feeder for less than a week when an animal (racoon?) knocked it down off the hanger. One of the flex ports was knocked off and I was unable to find it. I contacted the company to see if I could get a replacement and after the rep collected information regarding sale date, cause of problem, my phone number, etc I was told they don't sell replacement parts. Will not purchase anything from this company again.
What a BLESSING ????????!! I just purchased this Squirrel Be Gone and in a week or two I will do another review. Finally the squirrels can't eat the birds food. He tries, but gave up. ???? Stay tuned.
After 3 weeks the flex ports have been pecked to pieces and the seed just spills out. Then to top it off, Perky Pet doesn't sell replacement flex ports. That's pretty shady business practices and a crappy product. Don't waste your money on this garbage.
Bought this feeder a couple of weeks ago. Per your suggestion, installed a longer bracket so the feeder would be 18" from the fence to prevent squirrels from access. Within a few hours, one of the Flexports had been pulled out and much of the seed was gone. Found the port on the ground and with some difficulty snapped it back in. Next morning it was missing again and I've never been able to locate it. Later that day, I saw a squirrel hanging on the feeder and the following day a second port was MIA. I suspect our local squirrels are laughing their asses off at your engineering. Waste of $30.
Replacement flex ports are not available. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Once one of the flex ports is broken or missing, the seed flows out. Shame on the company not selling replacement flex ports.
this is the worst engineered product of any kind that I've purchased since a tennis ball gun that shot a ball all of 3'. birds can't figure out how to get to the seed & several ports seem to be always blocked by the decorative cage. I've tried to orientate the cage every position possible w/o luck. It really seems as though it was either designed to be very difficult to use, or went from design to production w/no engineering.
Can I get 6 flexports? I watched a small squirrel jump up onto the feeder, the outer cage didn’t pull down. I chased it away but found the next time I filled the seeds The seeds poured out, the flexports were chewed and half of the soft rubber was gone.
Please let me know how to proceed.

How do I clean the feeder? Birdseed has gotten stuck in the bottom between the tube and the base.
Question by: Cathy Thomas on Feb 2, 2025, 2:27 PM
To clean the Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone® Max Pinecone Bird Feeder, especially with birdseed stuck between the tube and the base, Disassemble the Feeder, fill a bucket or sink with warm water and add a mild dish soap. Soak both the tube and base in the soapy water for about 15-20 minutes to loosen up any stuck seed or debris. Let the parts air dry completely before reassembling. This will help prevent mold and bacteria from growing inside the feeder. Once everything is dry, carefully reassemble the parts and refill with fresh birdseed.

Can the weight tension be adjusted on the Model SBG101 to accommodate heavier birds? If it can be adjusted, how is that done?
Question by: Barbara on Nov 13, 2024, 10:14 AM
This feeder is not adjustable.
Answer by: Kristen on Nov 22, 2024, 2:47 PM
Unfortunately, the sensitivity is not adjustable on Model SBG101. It is preset to work with common squirrel sizes of 3/4 lb and up. Thank you for your question.

Thank you very much for contacting us.
To clean your bird feeder: disassemble it, wash with mild soap and warm water, rinse well, and let it air dry completely. Hand wash only—do not use a dishwasher. You can also watch our cleaning video on YouTube: (https://youtu.be/Y_ryiseJ1JA?si=O3cgyNQY-aHrWazQre]).
