Do not buy.

Do not buy. Spring is not strong enough to hold the cage up where birds can feed. It is bird and squirrel proof.

Replacement flex ports are not available. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Once one of the flex ports is broken or missing, the seed flows out. Shame on the company not selling replacement flex ports.
waste of money

this is the worst engineered product of any kind that I've purchased since a tennis ball gun that shot a ball all of 3'. birds can't figure out how to get to the seed & several ports seem to be always blocked by the decorative cage. I've tried to orientate the cage every position possible w/o luck. It really seems as though it was either designed to be very difficult to use, or went from design to production w/no engineering.
Flexports. Look at the reviews, they fail and the manufacturer will not supply the replacement parts.

Flexports. How many of the reviews mentioned damaged flexports? The manufacturer says "Replacement Flexports are not available for our feeders", yet also say they send out replacements in the 1 year warranty period. So they do have replacement Flexports, but don't make them available to their customers after the warranty expires. WHY?? Obviously you either manufacture or buy them, so why would you not make that part available? The only thing I can think of is they hope you discard the feeder and buy another...
I will not continue to do business with a company with such blatant disregard for their customers. I've bought many of their products in the past.
My wife bought this feeder ... had to back spring tension off to keep squirrels out better.

My wife bought this feeder because squirrels constantly ruin any plastic feeders she puts on out our deck. The design is a great idea, and in theory it should work. However after only a few weeks, the squirrels figured out how to hang from the top upside down and get at the seeds by destroying the Flexports.
I added a dome over the top of the feeder which worked for a while, until the squirrels figured out how to hang on the wire and stretch over the dome and grab the cage. I saw them sitting there eating and realized that the spring was not retracting enough to keep them out.
I took the feeder down and saw that there is an adjustment nut at the bottom of the spring that can be backed off to lessen the spring pressure. I backed it off as far as it will go, and now, FINALLY, (yay) the cage closes when a squirrel gets on it.
What I need now is a set of replacement Flexports and the feeder will be good as new.
Unfortunately, I read in a different review that replacement parts are not available. :(
Great squirrel resistant product.

Great squirrel resistant product. Frustrates them to the point they go elsewhere. Sturdy twist-lock top cover.
Price is reasonable.
Multiple easy access ports for birds. It was covered with birds 5 minutes after hanging it.

I was impressed with the response from Perky-Pet when I wrote to them about my new Squirrel-Be-Gone bird feeder being totally destroyed by squirrels. Five of the six holes were ruined, making the unit useless.
I received a new bird feeder a few days later. For that, I am very thankful, as I chose it based on their marketing about keeping the squirrels away from the seeds. I am still puzzled about how the squirrels got into the feeder, but they did, and they destroyed it.
Regarding my experience with the feeder being 100% squirrel-proof, I cannot say that it is. However, I am 100% satisfied with the excellent customer service, as I received a response right away, and based on the photos I sent, they promptly sent me a new feeder.
Keep up the good work! One good idea would be to exchange the plastic holes and housings with metal parts only. Adding metal housing and holes would make it impossible for the squirrels to destroy them, even if they were light enough to bypass the weight mechanism.
I give 5 stars for the great customer service that only North Americans companies give. Congratulations!

I give it a 4 star because I am on my second feeder and the flex ports get torn up. Are there any replacement parts for these?
I do not want to buy a third one. Once the port is damaged the seed tends to flow out.

My husband bought me 2 of these feeders thinking they were the same as my brome one. The squirrels pulled half of the flex ports out within a week. I glued them back on with flexible glue. I thought that would take care of the problem. But the squirrels have totally tore up the rubber around them and now the seeds won’t stay in the feeder. Also the coating on one of the cables is coming off and hard to get the top to slide open. I’ve had the same type of feeder in another brand for 10 years and it’s still going so this is disappointing for the price he paid. I can’t find where you can replace the ports anywhere.

I recently left a one star review. The company reached out to me a short time later and asked if I would send them photos of the defective feeders. After they reviewed the photographs, they promptly sent me three new feeders. The newly designed feeders seem to be much better in terms of addressing the problems that I had. Thank you very much.
