Black Oil Sunflower Seed is the most popular bird seed. It is much smaller than the traditional sunflower seed. It is best for those birds with smaller bills, such as the sparrow, junco and goldfinch.

How do I prevent seeds from sprouting under my feeder?

You will need to sterilize your seed to prevent it from germinating. This will not alter the attractiveness or the nutritional value of the seed in any way. Some store-bought seed will already be sterilized and will often state this on the packaging.

I don't have a question but a comment. I have 3 of the window hummer feeders that need bottoms replaced and you apparently don't have replacement parts. It would be helpful if you did.

At this time, Perky-Pet® replacement flowers are not available separately in different colors for the Window-Mount Hummingbird Feeder. The feeder comes with the flowers that are included in the original design, and Perky-Pet® does not offer alternate color options as replacement parts.

So I revived the Perky Pet “Plastic Window Hummingbird Feeder” and it came without a suction cup/hinge. Mistake ? It’s why I ordered a whole new one as old suction cup didn’t stick anymore.

The Perky-Pet® Window-Mount Hummingbird Feeder should include the suction cup/hinge assembly needed for mounting. If your new feeder arrived without that part, it sounds like the package may have been incomplete. Please contact us directly so we can assist you further with a resolution.
