I've had it for a couple months and fight with it every time to get it open. Now I can open it at all. Spent way too much for it to not open.

Will not hold water. Rushed out between metal parts.

Very disappointed in this feeder! We can’t get the glass top off the base. We’ve tried everything we can think of to get them apart, other than actually breaking it. It’s a beautiful feeder, but is worthless since it can’t be used.

I bought this and like it! Easy to take apart and clean compared to my other one I have that is a red mason jar type and has rusted all over. Hopefully this one doesn't run over time. The base didn't come apart on the old one either and was hard to clean as it would get all kinds of little particles in it and would have to fill it with water sever times and then shake it upside down to get it to clean inside and took several attempts. This feeder has been excellent so far!

It does not create a vacum seal on the base when inverted. Nectar leaks all out if its tilted slightly, Really pretty to look at but useless at feeding the orioles.

I was looking for another feeder like this because I like the metal/glass design so much - sturdy and durable against the squirrels who like to guzzle the nectar. I noticed the very low reviews and thought I'd read a few. Maybe the design has been fixed because I have not had any issues with leakage, thank goodness. I love this feeder. Purchased it in Summer of 2020 and it has outlasted the plastic jelly feeder by far. Again - no leaks! Flickers, Orioles, hummingbirds and woodpeckers alike enjoy this feeder at our house. TIP: I noticed that it is really easy to cross thread the metal base onto glass bottle, especially if wet (post cleaning, etc). Just take your time and do it slowly. Be sure it isn't crooked. Maybe that is part of the issue with some of the purchaser reviews?

I really liked the original version of this feeder. I did but experience leaks as many others did and it was my hummingbirds favorite feeder. However, I purchased a replacement and it has a different interior design with an insert at the base of the glass. It made it more difficult to clean and I just had to throw it out because I could not get the base off because it had suctioned so tightly to the new material inside. Really disappointing.

The design of this feeder is useless. Yes, it's pretty to look at, but it does not serve it's purpose because as soon as I flip the feeder over to hang it up on a Shepard hook all the liquid runs out! So frustrating. I don't recommend this product at all.
