Unique Top-Fill Design for Easy Filling
No more messes and no more spills! Our unique feeder features patented Top-Fill technology so that filling is never a hassle. Simply remove the lid and pour 24 oz of nectar into the wide-mouth opening to get your feeder up and running – there’s no need to invert the bottle!
Feeding Ports Inspired by Nature
Hummingbirds are accustomed to imbibing nectar from flowers. That’s why we’ve developed this feeder with soft, flexible feeding ports inspired by the hollyhock flower to offer a more natural look and feel. The vibrant color and realistic flower shape are perfect for attracting hummers, while the five ports ensure there’s enough room for multiple birds to dine simultaneously.
Naturally Keeps Out Bees
With this feeder, there’s no need for an added bee guard. The specially designed feeding ports feature a long “stem” that prevents bees from gaining access to the nectar, while hummingbirds will have no trouble at all! It’s a natural way of keeping out pesky bees without adding extra parts for you to clean.
Gasket Prevents Leaks
If you’ve ever walked outside to find drops of nectar on the ground from a leaky hummingbird feeder, you know how frustrating it can be. Issues like those are exactly why we’ve created this feeder with a gasket in the base. It creates a nice tight seal so there’s no more leaks!
Note: Feeders may loosen during shipment. Before filling for the first time, tighten the bottle onto the base to ensure no leaking.
Comes Apart for Easy Cleaning
Hummingbirds prefer to visit fresh, clean feeding stations. To make that easier, this feeder disassembles for effortless cleaning. Easily separate the base, bottle and lid. You can even pull apart the base and remove the feeding ports! Remember to clean your feeder at least once per week with a mild soap and water solution to prevent mildew buildup; clean more often in hot weather.

I loved this feeder for 2 years. Then the seal on the top started deteriorating and the rubber ports started getting rigid and breaking. Tried to get replacement parts, but they are not available.
Do not buy this piece of garbage. It is a beautiful feeder but it sucks and and kill birds since it can't be cleaned properly. When you do take it apart to clean it, it doens't go back together or just leaks all over! Buy the regular bottom fill type, the birds prefer it anyways, it comes apart easily to be cleaned and has perches.
I have had this feeder for several years....and hated it at first. I struggled to get the bottom apart in order to clean it. Eventually, I figured out that if I just barely screwed the top to bottom that it was easy to take apart the next time. It doesn't need to be screwed together tightly in order to keep it from leaking! I have had no problems with leaking. The color has faded some but it is still attractive and the hummers love it.
To PROPERLY clean these devices, the sponge and rings MUST be removed too. It doesn’t matter that the glass and metal plates come off easily and are a cinch to clean when there’s mold and sugar paste accumulating underneath the sponge and rings.
These two components DO NOT come off and that makes cleaning pointless.
These feeders are very easy to fill and are easy to disassemble, but since they don’t disassemble completely to perform the proper cleaning, they are mold greenhouses and therefore, kill hummingbirds in the long run.
All Perky-Pet had to do was make the sponge and ring snap on and off…what happened guys? Huh? It would have been a simple additional manufacturing process and would have only added 4 cents. Good grief!
My experience over the last couple of months has varied. Sometimes it leaks out the ports, sometimes it doesn't. Kudos to Reddog98 for comments and happy that these feeders are working for him / her. I have taken apart, cleaned, including float and the port (very carefully), reassembled several times. The float mechanism which plugs a tiny hole with a pin, is, I think, one of the more sophisticated and perhaps for that reason prone to error. I will probably continue to play with it, but also going back to my trusty bottom-fill feeders (which do have perches).
Do not buy this feeder. I wish I could give this less than one star. The liquid leaks out of the feeding ports. It’s hard to get apart to clean properly.
Excellent feeder. Glass, so it's handwashable for keeping birds safe from disease as long as you clean frequently. Filling from the top is super easy.
None of my perky pet feeders leak.
Bought 3 Top fill glass Hummingbird feeders. All 3 leak and you cannot get replacement seals. Just called them and Perky Pet does not make them and you cannot get them. They said “sorry”.
I live in northwest Washington state about 50 miles north of Seattle. I have about twenty hummingbird feeders. And have counted over 50 Anna hummingbirds at the same time on my front deck. The Perky Pet purple wine colored feeders are the birds, and my favorite. I have about a dozen hanging all year. One important point is that unlike those pictured, the flowers on all my feeders have perches. Perky Pet use to sell perches that attach to each individual flower on cards of six. I have found that perches are essential to attracting and keeping hummingbirds. They do not have to hover but can rest and feed.
The top fill feature is also essential. It does more than just making filling the feeder easy and messy free. Particularly If you make your own nectar and pay attention to how much your birds consume in a day, you can fill the feeder only as full as needed for one day and keep the rest in the fridge so that it stays fresh longer. You cannot do that with a feeder that you have to disassemble to fill.
The top fill feature is both has both a feature that is both genus and also capable of causing trouble if you don't understand how it works in the bottom of the feeder. When you remove the glass to of the feeder from the base, which you have to occasionally in order to clean it, examine it carefully. In the base there is a large round disk. That disk is a float that lets nectar into the bottom where the birds feed on it. When the base is full the float rises and stops more liquid from entering. If the float isn't working properly it will allow liquid to flow into the base and overflow out of the flowers. Remember that the float lives in sugar water. It can get sticky and not float freely. Your feeder isn't broken, you just need to Unscrew the glass top from the base and rinse it out. I am pretty sure all the top feeders work that way.
I just purchased a Diamond Wine feeder. How do you clean feeder base? The top and bottom of the base appear to be riveted together. How do you make sure there is no mold in the feeder base when there is no way to get a brush in there?

What would cause two of the five flowers to begin seeping constantly?
Why aren't replacement flowers available? Is this a bug or a corporate feature?
Question by: Rich Rogers on May 17, 2025, 12:21 PM
The constant seeping from two of the flowers may be caused by the heat. To prevent this, it's recommended to place the feeder in a shaded area.
Regarding your question about replacement flowers, they are not currently available for individual purchase.

I can't separate the base of the diamond feeder. Do I unscrew or just pull apart?
Question by: Douglas Najima on Dec 31, 2025, 12:45 AM
The base of the Perky-Pet® Diamond Wine Top-Fill Glass Hummingbird Feeder unscrews from the glass reservoir. Hold the glass firmly and twist the base counterclockwise to remove it.
