Blue jays down to chickadees love this feeder. By Jane

I bought 2 of these same feeders about 18 years ago from a local store. They have gone through being manipulated by bears, blown off the hanger, chewed on by squirrels, etc. Birds of all kinds use the feeder. So of course I went back to Perky-Pet to replace them.

most humane capacity By jacqui

This one is a great feeder for many reasons. The lid is superior to the ones that twist off and it is quality workmanship. Unfortunately, the handle flops from side to side when I reach to hang it, so I need a stool, now. I couldn't find a 4lb gazebo style when I bought this a few months ago as I needed a replacement. I found a pleasant surprise when I realized that the local raptors, some tremendous birds (peregrines, golden eagles, hawks), haven't been leaving any sign that they are nearly as able to dive or swoop and make a catch with the smaller feeder. It seems that fewer birds on one feeder allow for a better escape route. So, I downsized my other 4lb feeder which had 12 stations to one with 6 stations, and now I just have to figure out the local kitties!

Highly recommend By Pepi

I love my new feeder! I also bought the pole which attaches to my deck railing. The red color matches my red deck and the birds fly in to snack all day. With a rim that goes around the feeder, several birds can perch at the same time. Unfortunately the squirrels have figured out how to eat from the feeder too (even after greasing the pole). But when the squirrel wraps around the feeder to gorge itself, it does help to move the seeds in the center so they become accessible for the birds. We have had several big wind storms in the past few weeks, and the feeder has held up.

Wonderful product By Sandy

Birds seem to love all the feeders I purchased, so much so that I bought more for family. And the squirrels have been unsuccessful in their endeavors.

Super feeder however... By Devoted to birds

I agree with the Nov 2019 review about needing an interior cone to keep seeds accessible. Great feeder otherwise and so large the seeds last a long time. May even buy a 2nd to keep at the ready while the first awaits cleaning.

long lasting By Sassmom

Have had a No-No wild bird feeder for at least 10 years. Don't see it offered anymore. This is the toughest feeder ever! It has withstood several bear attacks through the years and survived, a little twisted, with a bent tray, but still going strong! The birds love their feeder.

Attract a wide range of birds and creatures By Tess
I've had this Cardinal feeder for 5-6 years (bought it from local bird feed store) and so many birds in addition to the Cardinals and squirrels love it. I have it outside my kitchen window and watching it and all my other feeders are such a joy. I bought this replacement (I leave them out 365 days a year and keep full) since the top literally rusted off of the original one. This new one I bought directly from Perky Pet which was nice, but the top doesn't fit down as well as the first one and I have to push it down to get the top to lock (I'm worried the paint will come off at that point and cause rust sooner) but still I hope it lasts as long as the first as it's a big hit. I'm doubtful though.

This feeder works well By G

This feeder works well, the seeds in the center are un-reachable, and can get moldy when wet. This could be improved by: 1. Adding a sheet metal cone 3-3 1/2 inches in diameter at the base, that would direct the seeds laterally as the level of the seeds drops.

Q&A
Q.I bought the red cardinal mesh feeder, and filled it with black sunflower. I had one several years ago and loved it. The birds seem to be having trouble getting to the seed, which they eat fine from other feeders. Am I doing something wrong? It has been almost a week. Thank you.
A.

Nothing is being done incorrectly. The birds may need time to adjust to the new feeder. If they dont seem to be adjusted within a few weeks, please give us a call at 855-737-5973!

Q.I had this red mesh cardinal feeder several years ago and loved it. I just bought another and filled it with black sunflower seeds, as I did in the past. The birds seem to be having a hard time getting to the seeds through the mesh. They are eating the same seed fine from other feeders. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you.
A.

Rest assured that the birds may just need time to adjust to the new feeder. If they do not seem to adjust within a few weeks, please give us a call at 855-737-5973 so that we may help!

Q.I love your red cardinal bird feeder and have owned it for years. Recently the mesh seed cage disengaged from the base and rim and fell to the ground. I did not find fasteners nearby. Do you have a repair kit or can you recommend a way to reconnect the parts? Thank you. Picture available if needed.
A.

We do not offer repair kits for our feeders and we do not have recommendations on how to reconnect these parts.
