Squirrel Proof Seed Shield™

Had so many squirrels eating at my old bird feeder that I had to fill it every day. Now with my new Perky Pet feeder, I fill it once every two weeks and the birds love it. They eat longer and in peace without fear of the squirrels. Looks nice in the yard also.

We have had this feeder for a few years, within the first year the Flexports were basically worn out. This is really a fatal flaw of design for this product. The rubber that they are made of is too soft of a durometer and wears out quickly. It is not a replaceable part although I have disassembled the feeder myself, removed the four ports and attempted to craft new Flexports from an older bicycle tire. It works for now but wow, what a disaster to have to do. The parts should be interchangeable and available as a part to order from the manufacturer (Perky Pet). So disappointing for the price. I have three other feeders that don't have quite the capacity (which is why I bought this) but have lasted over 15 years each! What a difference good design and materials make. As far as being squirrel-proof....not really. Smart squirrels can figure this one out pretty fast. A separate baffle mounted on top can help keep them from coming down onto it which we had to get after some started easily raiding the feeder. Obviously keep it away from easy jump off points and branches so they cannot get to it from underneath. Buyer be warned!
worked fine until the birds destroyed the flexports! you would think that when you spend $46.00 for a birdfeeder you could by replacement parts. not a happy camper

I bought this feeder I thought it would be good ???? because I was hoping to feed little birds not doves and starlings ????I filled my feeder and my husband said ???? looks like seeds are falling out I said a little the next day this is what I had
I bought this it’s horrible design filled it and the seeds fall right out waste of 47.00 dollars can’t return it cause you used it ???? but the picture shows what happened 2 days squirrel ????️ proof yes they don’t have to try getting seeds because there on the ground!!! ???????? Do not buy. 1) these "flex-ports" that supposedly stop the seed from simply poring out, quickly dry out and shrink in the weather allowing seed to pour out. I figured that seeing they were easy to replace I'd buy some of the little "flex-ports". BUT NO--THEY WONT PROVIDE THEM. The feeder is a waste within a year of use. Twice directly contacted them but no support was offered. And I see from previous reviews I am not the only one reporting this.
I love this feeder and so does my birds. I have one red bird who likes to “rule” the feeder. This feeder is easy to fill. Holds a lot of seed and keeps the squirrels out. I had one problem with the flexports but Perky Pet resolved the problem in a very quick manner. Thank you. I would definitely buy another Perky Pet feeder in the future.
This is the best feeder I’ve found to keep squirrels from being able to get to the seed. Customer service is awesome. I would have given it 5 stars, but if you have a lot of birds feeding, the flexports won’t last long and they don’t sell new ones. It would be great if you could purchase new ones when needed.
Same as most everyone else. It's great until flexports wear out. Some said they found some on etsy. I was considering rigging something out of a plastic lid.
Are the Flexports replaceable? If yes, where are they sold? ⅙

I have bought three of these feeders. The problem is that you say they are easy to clean--but unless you can also remove the bottom, they are not at all easy to clean. Seeds stick between the plastic outer shell and the metal feeding flexports--then mold sets in. Can the bottom of the feeder be removed?

If the bottom piece has come off, please check to see if it can be realigned and pressed back into place. This particular model does not have screws and is likely designed with internal clips for reattachment. Carefully inspect the inner tube and bottom piece to ensure that no parts appear broken or cracked.
