Perky-Pet® Sun and Star Lantern Wild Bird Feeder

Loved the old style with screw on hanging loop, worked well for 20 years. Purchased the new style yesterday (all I could find) with the cable, the top will not stay on securely when in use by multiple cardinals Will be returning to home depot for refund.

I recently had an issue with a hummer feeder and some necter. I contacted Customer Servive and they answered all my questions. I am extremely happy with all my Perky Pet products. Thank you Perky-pet

It's a nice looking feeder, but the first time I put it up, the squirrels must have jumped on it and it and all the birdseed was on the ground the next morning.

I read the reviews for this feeder and purchased two of them. It was money down the drain! The expensive black oiled sunflower seed and safflower seed mix I use fell right out of these feeders. Even larger stripped sunflower seed falls through. I cannot use these feeders at all. I will either throw them away or donate them. I am very disappointed!

I've had this feeder for about 4 years and it is solid. I use it primarily for safflower seed and it is a hit with Finches, Cardinals, Titmouse, Chickadees, etc. Finally the bottom is rusting out due to years of sprinklers hitting it from all angles. I'm on the site now buying another one. It's simple and it has just enough of a perch so that even doves can sit and eat.

I have been buying bird feeders for the last 40 years and never had one like this that works so well in every aspect. I usually end up throwing the old one away every one or two years as they have outperformed their use and no looker look or work well. This one is very attractive and has been noticed by all my neighbors. The most important feature is that all the seeds you put inside are funneled to the outside so that every seed including crumbs are taken by the birds. We have experience two major rain periods and none of the seed became wet. This feeder can hold larger size birds such as bluejays, cardinals, blackbirds, orioles and woodpeckers plus all smaller birds. Two or three birds can easily be on the perch at any time. Even though I have a 12 inch shield above the feeder to keep rain and squirrels off there is no way a squirrel can jump and grab any part of the feeder to hold on. I am so glad I ordered two feeders without seeing it up close. Neighbors are asking where I bought it and want one. There is so much activity on this feeder constantly. I have told all my friends and for some relatives I will be sending a feeder as a gift. Thank you Perky-Pet. Mike

Solid, not flimsy. Should last long time. Large feeding tray for the larger birds. May lose little more seed because of large feeding area but more birds will use it. Very steady after you put seed in it. Does not easily blow around. Birds came to it within 5 minutes and seem to love it.

I was so happy with this feeder that I immediately bought another one! I was unable to find a feeder at the stores with a large enough tray for the bigger birds. This one works great for all the birds and looks good as well.

Very attractive feeder which first caught my eye. It has a large platform perimeter allowing small and larger birds to feed. The platform has many drain holes. Put a clear baffle above it and the squirrels are deterred, and the baffle helps to keep the seed dry. Happy with the purchase.
