Cleaning:Dirty feeders spread disease. We recommend disinfecting your nectar feeders every three
to five days, or more frequently if you notice your nectar has become cloudy. Do not put your feeder in the
dishwasher as the high temperatures can permanently damage the feeder parts. Soak all parts in a 50/50 solution of
white vinegar and water. Use a bird feeder brush to brush away grime inside the feeder.

The metal base is treated to help resist corrosion, but exposure to nectar and weather can cause rusting over time. To help prevent this, clean and dry the feeder thoroughly before refilling and hang it in a shaded, sheltered area. I love this feeder. The hummingbirds love it too. I have more than 12 flitting around an amethyst jewel feeder and two of these elixir bottle type feeders every year for the past 10 years. Everyone who shops at the store where I work enjoys sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch to watch the hummingbirds. The hummingbirds have become legendary.
I've had this feeder for a few years and the hummingbirds seem to like it. The only issue I've had is the bottle isn't really red and the color fades in the sun and comes off when washing it. It's also a little tricky to get the inside of the bottle clean because of the curves.
I really like this hummingbird feeder. It is very attractive, solid and very easy to clean. When I bought the feeder, I also bought the MoreBirds Hummingbird Nectar. Occasionally we would see hummingbirds fly around, but they never landed on the feeder. I constantly refreshed the nectar to no avail. This went on for about three months when after a conversation with neighbors, I mixed my own sugar and water mix. Immediately, the hummingbirds appeared and began using the feeder. Now we see them four or five times everyday. Sometimes they just sit on a branch near the feeder and prune themselves. It's a wonderful experience to be able to watch them.
I’d bought one at a store and when I wanted some more, couldn’t find them. So glad I found More Birds! I have 3 of these hummingbird feeders and love them! The feeders were packaged well and quick to ship. The wide mouth bottle design makes for easier cleaning. The hummingbirds seem to love the feeders too!
Easy to clean, sturdy basin. Love the perches for the hummers to rest on. Most of all it is RUST FREE. I previously purchased a glass feeder from Perky Pet and was disappointed that not only would they not replace the item or correct the rust issue, but continue to sell these products.
