I bought 3 cans of the perky pet clear nectar. Previously I was using sugar water that I boiled which the hummers flocked to. I watched after I filled my feeder with the perky pet. I never saw a single hummer come. After a couple days, I took the feeder down and poured all the liquid into a bowl, dipped my finger in and tasted. It had an off/odd taste very unlike my sugar water. I then opened another can and tasted. It was the very same off/odd taste. I can see why the hummers do not come. Going back to boiling sugar water. A total waste of my $.
I love this for the convenience! Yeah, I could boil sugar and water, but why go to the trouble? My 4 or 5 little hummers love this. One bottle gets me through the feeding season, so it’s quite economical for me.
I've purchased this product from Amazon several times and received clear nectar. My recently purchased bottle has Nectar that has turned yellow. Why is the Nectar yellow? Is it still safe for the hummingbirds?

I am sorry to hear that the nectar has yellowed. Our clear nectar concentrate may have a yellow tint before it is mixed. The yellow tint is normal, as this item is a concentrate. The nectar turns clear once it becomes diluted. Yes, it is still safe for the hummingbirds. Thank you for your question.

This could be an indicator that it is spoiled. I would recommend returning it to Amazon.
