Perky-Pet® Looking Glass Hummingbird Feeder

I loved the design when I purchased it. The copper tarnished within a two yrs time. Hummers don't like drinking out of rusted metal. What a waste of money. It was one that was expensive. I have a few feeders that are plain and glass the metal rusts in them too. Im wishing I could just replace the bottom feeder on them, Id hate to have to purchased New ones.

Birds don’t go anywhere near this feeder. They just don’t seem attracted to the “flower” ports. It may look nice to humans, but piously not to hummers. It’s waayy too expensive for just a patio ornament and implied but useless practical purpose. It might work if it had modern soft, colorful PerkyPet feeder port inserts, but the poorly painted, cheap-looking metal ports are totally fakes and obviously uninviting to our birds. They only go to our thousands of read flower blooms and two little flower pot feeders.

I was given this feeder as a gift from co-workers. It has never worked for me. The base leaked from the first time I hung it. No matter how it is adjusted it continues to leak. Pretty to look at but expensive for that purpose.

My husband gifted this to me about 5 years ago. At first, I had a really hard time reattaching the feeder to the base and the food would drip out. I discovered that once you arrive at the precise position when attaching the base, the problem is resolved. My only criticism that left me with writing a disappointing review, is the wear of the copper. It turns dark and has multiple areas that have tarnished badly and do not improve with washing or polishing. I wish it had been coated to prevent the tarnishing and discoloration. Other than that, my hummers love feeding from it.

My son purchased this for me at Christmas. Living in the Chicago area, now is the time to put it to use. Beautiful feeder, however, inside the glass is not cleanable and it leaks. SAD!

Love the bottle, don’t love the base. It cracked from tightening it down. Customer service said I couldn’t buy just the plastic base.

I purchased this feeder a while back and wish I would have returned it when at the time. The hummers love it, although it’s difficult to clean thoroughly on account of the opening being so small and then the feeder inside being so round and big. Also I did not take into consideration the copper would heat up in the hot weather we get in the summertime. This is not one I would recommend.

I had to replace all of my feeders since the Perky Pet ones I've had for over 10 years, and absolutely loved, have been discontinued. I bought 7 of these and 5 of them leak terribly. Even if you take every precaution during assembly, after cleaning and filling, they leak at the base. There is a major alignment issue with this model. Additionally, the copper hanger at the top is angled differently for all 7 of the feeders that I bought and all of them hang a bit sideways, which also doesn't help the leak issue. The dripping nectar on the ground attracts tons of ants which is a big problem. Also, the copper design which encircles the feeder sticks out in many places and I fear it may snag a Hummer when it flees the feeder during a dispute over territory. These are very expensive so I expected better quality. They look so beautiful so that's a shame. I really want my Landmark model back.

Have an earlier version of this feeder, which I purchased because it was the first one I found that truly came apart for cleaning, but the metal parts are rusting badly and no amount of cleaning or sealing helps. All metal parts should be stainless, aluminum or anodized for outdoor use. I have not had any problems with leaking or hanging the feeder. A service rep just told me that other feeders without the metal parts have been redesigned for easier cleaning but the ones with metal parts should be reformulated or discontinued.
