The updated version of the Classic A-Series Sunflower Bird Feeder, invented in 1969, stays true to the iconic
classic while adding the Ring Pull Advantage feature for easy cleaning. Now it's easier than ever to give
songbirds just what they need - fresh food from a clean, hygienic feeder. Droll Yankees Ring Pull Feeders offer a
fresh, modern, no-tools-needed approach to cleaning with the Ring Pull Advantage. Made of high-quality materials, this bird feeder will stand the test of time. The heavy-duty zinc plated metal components won't chip or fade and will resist squirrels' chewing. Hang by the stainless steel wire or pole-mount via the threaded base.
Cleaning: Dirty bird feeders spread disease. We recommend cleaning your feeders weekly, or
monthly at a minimum. Do not put your feeder in the dishwasher as the high temperatures can permanently damage the
feeder parts. Clean your feeders outdoors with a large bucket, and always wear gloves when cleaning. Soak your
feeder in a 9:1 solution of water and bleach for 15 minutes. Then use a bird feeder brush to scrub the feeder with
dish soap and water. Refill when completely dry.

I recently replaced my old classic A series feeder with a ring-pull feeder.
I was concerned about the comments that the perch rods were too short. On my old feeder, I cantilevered the perches so they would stick out more on one side, creating a longer perch for the cardinals. On the new feeder, the perches cannot be moved, so I used 1/4 inch PEX plastic pipe (PEX pipe 1/4 in x 5 ft PEX-b tubing) to extend the perches, using a 4 to 5 inch piece of tube on each one.
The plastic tube slips right over the metal rod. If there is writing stamped on the plastic, you can clean it off with nail polish remover.
The cardinals can sit on the end of the perch and easily reach the seeds without contortion.
The bird feeder is ingeniously designed for both people and birds! Super easy to fill and clean, and the birds love it. All those pictures you see on the site with birds all over the feeder - that's exactly what happened with ours. Wonderful!
birds eat quite rapidly from this feeder. I'm disappointed that the cardinals and blue birds aren't finding it to their liking. I did have a separate Droll Yankee Tray that I attached to the bottom but that just encouraged the starlings and grackles to eat the meal worms I placed in the middle. So I took off tray and took out worms, now they're gone. Other than that, it fits the bill. But still wish the cardinals and blues would use it. Also wish I could place a separate cage over the feeder to keep out larger birds. However, a well made feeder.
Wonderful feeder. I have not purchased a feeder in years for myself because mine is still working very well. I have purchased numerous feeders as gifts for friends though. A durable gift, well worth its $$! Walmart and Lowe’s generic feeders have broken on me many times. Never has a droll failed me.
Arrived in great condition. Easy to work with. Sturdy! I had searched our local stores and couldn't find affordable quality like this anywhere. Love it.
