Classic tubular bird feeding meets modern convenience in this bird feeder! The Classic Finch Feeder with Ring
Pull Advantage offers the same quality and durability as the original Droll Yankees' design but with the added
convenience and easy cleaning of the Ring Pull Advantage. Simply lift
the cap and pull the metal ring pull rod, allowing the ports and base to fall away easily – no tools needed!Made of high-quality materials, this bird feeder will stand the test of time. The heavy-duty zinc plated metal components won't chip or fade and will resist squirrels' chewing. Hang by the stainless steel wire or pole-mount via the threaded base.
Cleaning: Dirty bird feeders spread disease. We recommend cleaning your feeders weekly, or
monthly at a minimum. Do not put your feeder in the dishwasher as the high temperatures can permanently damage the
feeder parts. Clean your feeders outdoors with a large bucket, and always wear gloves when cleaning. Soak your
feeder in a 9:1 solution of water and bleach for 15 minutes. Then use a bird feeder brush to scrub the feeder with
dish soap and water. Refill when completely dry.
WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including Bisphenol A (BPA), which is known to the State
of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to http://www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Usually my birds take their sweet time finding the new bird feeder. That wasn't the case with this one. I can't keep it full. Great construction, especially the pull ring. Cleaning is a breeze!
I like them, however am wondering if the silver parts are metal or plastic. I had one years ago that was metal, however these appear to be plastic. I have a lot of squirrels, and do not like plastic ports & perches.
I have used this feeder for many years. I have three of them around our patio visible from inside and more often than not all of the positions are filled with a waiting queue. Seems easy for the birds to access the thistle. With the newer single pin cleaning system they are a breeze to keep tidy. If thistle feeding is what you want to offer, this is the feeder.
I love my gold finches, and they love this feeder. I am especially happy to see that I can purchase a repacement tube for later. My previous feeder was similar, but the plastic tube cracked after a few years. This feeder is also such a great improvement over the one I am retiring. The feeding openings are smaller, keeping the rain out, and it is much easier to clean. I don't have to go find the proper screwdriver anymore.
I have an older version of this item! It has served my birds well! I still have it and plan on using it when I clean the new one. Anything to keep my finches happy!
This update on the TH-3 really is an improvement. How much easier can disassembly get than this? ! I've used the original TH-3 for many years, still do, but seeing this new one filled all day with finches only makes me smile. The openings for thistle seed extraction are ideal too, eliminating wasted seed of some mesh type feeders. Would love to see the B-7 get the ring pull update too!
