The cages feature an easy-open, double-locking closure system. The shingle-patterned roof design diverts rain & snow, helping keep suet cakes dry. Its cage grid is designed with clinging birds in mind, but it’s not just for suet! It’s also perfect for small seed cakes, nesting materials in spring & oranges in summer. Woodpeckers also use the bottom cages as a tail-prop when feeding! Constructed of solid steel with a weather-resistant, brown powder-coated finish, the Four Cake Suet Buffet is a quality suet feeder that birds will love.
Cleaning: Dirty bird feeders spread disease. We recommend cleaning your feeders weekly, or monthly at a minimum. Do not put your feeder in the dishwasher as the high temperatures can permanently damage the feeder parts. Clean your feeders outdoors with a large bucket, and always wear gloves when cleaning. Soak your feeder in a 9:1 solution of water and bleach for 15 minutes. Then use a bird feeder brush to scrub the feeder with dish soap and water. Refill when completely dry.
