Feed birds (not squirrels!) with the revolutionary Squirrel-X8 Squirrel-Resistant Bird Feeder! If a squirrel or
larger bird tries to feed on any of the 4 spring-loaded perches, the X8's integrated design shuts every port
simultaneously. And if a squirrel tries to hang from the top, the X8's weight-sensitive lid shuts every port,
while the elongated tube further deters racketeering rodents. The cap is nestled within the tube to keep squirrels
from accessing the seed. The large viewing window lets you know when it's time to refill, and the wide top opening
makes cleaning and refilling a breeze! With a 2.5 lb. seed capacity, the Squirrel-X8 keeps songbirds happy and
coming back for more!
Placement to deter squirrels: The key to keeping a bird feeder successfully squirrel-proofed is
the placement. Place your bird feeder 4 feet from the ground and 8 feet from anything a squirrel can jump from.
When hanging from a pole by a hook, it is recommended that the hook have at least a 16โ distance from the pole.
Placing a baffle on the pole or having a caged feeder will also help to ensure squirrel-proof success.
Cleaning: Dirty bird feeders spread disease. We recommend cleaning your feeders weekly, or
monthly at a minimum. Do not put your feeder in the dishwasher as the high temperatures can permanently damage the
feeder parts. Clean your feeders outdoors with a large bucket, and always wear gloves when cleaning. Soak your
feeder in a 9:1 solution of water and bleach for 15 minutes. Then use a bird feeder brush to scrub the feeder with
dish soap and water. Refill when completely dry.
Mixed feelings.
Love the feeder and birds went right to it after a day or two. Squirrels havenโt bothered with it which is good because I feed the birds next to the squirrels tree. Mix feelings comes in because it was out just a week or so and the first rain storm the seed inside is soggy now.
For some reason, the birds ignore this feeder! I used the same seed I use in other feeders. Then I tried different seed. I moved it from place to place. Would not buy again!
We appreciate your feedback regarding this feeder. Birds are creatures of habit and it can take time for them to try a new feeder. Please contact us at 855-737-5973 for additional tips on how to attract birds to feeders.

Soggy & frozen bird seed

This is by far the worst bird feeder Iโve purchased. It allows moisture to get inside the seed area and then the bird feed either swells or freezes.
Money lost on this one.

This birdfeeder, although seems well ...

This birdfeeder, although seems well built & looks good, it's garbage! Every time it rains, the birdseed will clump up & you will have to painstakingly break up the seed to remove.
Thank you for sharing this feedback. We're sorry to hear that this is happening with your feeder and have shared these concerns with our Product Manager for review. It has a 30 day return policy. We recommend returning to your local retailer for assistance with a return if you are not satisfied.

Not as advertised

Not as advertised, you can't use seed mixes in this. The holes that feed the seed out of the main tube are way too small. It might work for pure millet but that's about it.
It doesn't attract squirrels though, so I guess that's a plus but that's only because not a living thing, squirrel or bird, can get any seed out of this thing.
This feeder is designed to hold up to 2.5 lb of mixed seed or sunflower. We are sorry to hear about your experience and have shared your feedback with the Product Manager. Please feel free to give us a call directly with any questions, we're happy to help!
We are sorry to hear about this! Birds are creatures of habit and can take some time to adjust to a new feeder. You may want to try relocating it or temporarily removing any established feeders until this one is being utilized. Please feel free to contact us directly at 800-352-9164 for additional assistance. We're happy to help!

Once a squirrel lands on a perch and locks the black sunflower seeds down, I need to reset it so birds can get seeds again. Squirrels have chewed the clear plastic on the inside of the feeder and created sharp edges. Black sunflower seeds do not readily fall into the small seed cup - I need to give the feeder a shake for seeds to fill cup.
The feeder works great for keeping the squirrels away but the seed doesnโt fall freely. Thereโs nothing blocking the seed from falling, it seems like the openings could be a little bigger. I use sunflower hearts.
I bought 2 of these feeders, hoping to keep the squirrels away. NO birds use the feeders. I filled both feeders weeks ago and they are still full. Waste of money.
