Cleaning: Dirty bird feeders spread disease. We recommend cleaning your feeders weekly, or
monthly at a minimum. Do not put your feeder in the dishwasher as the high temperatures can permanently damage the
feeder parts. Clean your feeders outdoors with a large bucket, and always wear gloves when cleaning. Soak your
feeder in a 9:1 solution of water and bleach for 15 minutes. Then use a bird feeder brush to scrub the feeder with
dish soap and water. Refill when completely dry.
Very pleased overall with the feeder after 2 years of use. Birds will fill every perch of this feeder before visiting the other feeders that contain the same seed. Very easy to clean and the finish has stood up well.
This feeder has been great and attracts a variety of birds. Easy to fill, very durable, easy to clean and like the large amount of seed it holds. The only thing I would recommend it attaching the top ring to the feeder as it is easy to loose which I have done.
Size is great. Squirrels do get in too if it to eat the food. The main problem I see is that the platform and bars are way too small for the birds. Challenging for them. Also, they canno eat from the bottom opening. Too low.
I bought this feeder to replace the older feeder which was similar to this one. It worked very well but the squirrels jumped down from it so many times and unscrewed the top that it finally fell to was completely bent. I bought the new one but it doesn't work very well. I am using sunflower chips and they don't fall down to the perches or the openings on the bottom. I have to constantly use a wooden skewer to get the seeds to move down to the openings. I am not happy with it but I didn't save my receipt so I can't return it to Walmart. I emailed the company to see if any thing could be done about it. The auto reply said that I would get a response in 48 hours but that was two weeks ago.

I have this feeder and ...

I have this feeder and their older one. The problem with this one is that birds cannot get to the seed below the last opening. Their older one had the same top and bottom sections, but had a larger mesh with no perches and openings. I could fill it with sunflower seed and the birds could feed all the way to the bottom. I would really like to find the older feeder again, but have not been able to locate one.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences with this feeder and have shared your interest in previous versions with our Product Managers. Please feel free to contact us with any questions at 855-737-5973, we're happy to help.

The seeds get wet and rotten

Hello, I bought this feeder as it felt very strong and durable. It is not cheap so I figured it would do a great job. Unfortunately, it appears that because of its perforated seed dispenser, when it rains all the seeds become wet and they rotten or even germinate inside the dispenser. It is extremely high mainetance and is very costly due to the huge waste of seeds......I wouldn't recommend it to anyone....
Two days after putting this out one of the perch/feeding ports fell out and must have been swept away when our fall cleanup crew did the leaves so we couldn’t find it. I’ve tried to get a replacement and can’t find that particular part. Feeder is worthless now because the seed just flows right out! For the price I should be able to find replacement parts. Very unhappy and would not recommend this feeder.
I love this feeder since it holds a larger amount of seed and also looks attractive amongst the trees. Due to the attractiveness to squirrels and their inquisitive nature, they twisted the feeder off its hanger and the screw top loop fell into the leaves and cannot be found. I have searched relentlessly. Is it possible to obtain another? Please advise. Thank you.
I purchased this feeder for the quantity of seed it will hold and the option of splitting the offerings. It does a great job and I love how long I can go between fillings. The only thing I'd change is to make the catch tray at the bottom bigger or wider. I've learned not to use seed mix with large pieces, like peanuts or striped sunflower seeds, because they will be trapped in the bottom.
I love(d) this feeder. I bought one for my place up north. The next day I went out and bought another for my home downstate. Its capacity was the best feature, as it would hold enough seed to feed the birds for most of the duration between visits to the cabin.
Next time I went up to the cabin one of my first chores was to fill the new feeder. I was disappointed to find that two of the six perch/baffle fixtures were missing. I looked all over in a 20 foot circle under the feeder but could not find any parts. They were probably flung into the nearby pond when another family member mowed the grass. The mounting holes in the screen were not distorted, so I know that they weren't forcibly ripped out. I had to weave fine wire into the open holes to keep all of the seed from pouring out. During the repair, I checked the remainder of the perches and found that two more of them were loose.
I came to this site to see if I could buy the parts to rebuild the feeder. No luck.
Only positive note: With a third of the holes wired shut, you don't go through seed quite as fast.
The instructions need to be amended to include, "Check that all external parts are securely tightened before use."
Also: The drain holes in the bottom of the tray need to be enlarged slightly. The surface tension of water is sufficient to effectively clog the holes rendering them useless. I enlarged them by about 1/64" and they're better, though certain seeds will still plug them too. I'd consider a re-design to change the bottom of the tray to screen.
