Keep pesky ants away from your hanging bird feeders! This AntGuard® helps ensure the hummingbirds (and not the ants) will enjoy the nectar.
The Perky-Pet® AntGuard® effectively repels ants from feeders and easily mounts in-line with hanging bird feeders.
AntGuard® was accepted for use on hummingbird feeders by the US EPA. Permethrin is used in many household products, including dog flea collars and children’s shampoo, and impregnated fabric is now used in US Military combat uniforms to repel mosquitoes. Like the naturally derived pyrethrin, which originates from chrysanthemums and was the inspiration for this substance, it should be kept away from ponds, streams or other bodies of water due to aquatic organism risk.

This product works! Ants don’t even climb the pole to get to the guard. Now using same guards for 2nd year. Thanks

Review RateMust have!!
Ant guards are a must for feeders on Shepard hooks. Amazing how well they work and unlike the water moats they don’t need any attention: hang it and the ants are gone. Yay!!!

I am constantly battling ants around the feeders, the ant guard took care of that problem. Thanks!
Review RateNot effective
Well the ants are smaller than the ones that were getting in but they are still floating thick. I agree with Dan.Response From Perky-Pet®Lauren : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateVery Effective product
Unlike "Useless Dan", I found these to be very effective if used correctly. My feeders hang off shepherd's hooks. I had lots of ants, large and small, some of which found their way into the feeders and evidently 'drowned'. No more ants at all, in/on either of the two hummingbird feeders, though I am still not clear how they work to keep them away. Used to tie an ant insecticide soaked rag at the bottom of the shepherd's hook stand, which did work, depending on weather and sunshine. Now if you could only design one for squirrels.
