Your hummingbirds will thank you for your efforts!“I LOVE THIS FEEDER! I replaced the old style of this feeder for this updated style and I'm so glad I did! The wider opening allows for cleaning with a regular bottlebrush (the old style had a narrow neck and was difficult to clean) and the bee guards that open for cleaning are great. I like the size of this feeder because the birds eat the nectar so quickly it makes sure I am cleaning them every few days, which prevents the mold that is harmful to the hummers." Review RateI like these feeders
I bought three of these feeders to add to my hummingbird feeder array and replace some older, rusting, metal feeders. I really like them. I haven't noticed a problem with leaking, or attracting bees or ants, but I don't have any of my feeders placed over a deck or concrete surface. I do have the feeders placed over or near flowering herbs and shrubs that the bees seem to prefer. What I like about these feeders is the capacity that is perfect for refilling every one or two days and the ease of cleaning.
Review RateLove this!
I love this feeder! The wide mouth makes it easy to clean. I have had no leaking problems with this but did with the old design. The orioles love it as well as the hummingbirds.
Review RatePerfect except.
These are the perfect feeders except for one thing. They have a steady drip. Seems to help if after pushing the bee guards in to pull the flowers out to meet the guards. This seems to slow the trip somewhat. To bad because it is perfect in every other way.
Review RateAnts Are Happy
Your wide-mouth design has caused the leaking issue. My old punch-waist feeder with the narrow mouth was used in the SAME place for over 5 years, in the sun, and NEVER leaked. This new one leaks continually and now I have ants all over my 2nd story deck. They swarm onto the leaking nectar and now have decided to move into all my potted flowers. Not pleased. You really need to go back to your old design. It may have been a bit harder to clean, but it never leaked. Review after review has the same complaint, but you just keep making excuses. Bottom line is that this new wide-mouth design is flawed. May have been wise to test prior to manufacturing and selling to everyone.Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateGood seal and quick flip helped me with leaking
For the most part I am happy with this feeder, yes at first I had issues with it leaking. But with some trail and error this helped me. 1. Make sure you have a good seal of the container after you fill it up, hand tight no cross threading. And 2. Most importantly, 'quickly' flip the feeder and put it in position to hang. I put a larger s-hook, the one that came with the feeder was too small in that I would fumble with it to hang it, which for me was my source of leaking.
Review RateLeaky feeders
I have purchased 3 pinch neck style hummingbird feeders over the last year or so. They all have wide mouth jars. They all LEAK!Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
Thank you for providing this feedback! We are very sorry for this unusual experience. To help keep this from occurring, the feeders should be kept out of the direct sunlight, hung level, cleaned at least twice a week and assembled tightly. Creating a vacuum seal is also important by quickly inverting the feeder upright after filling.

Review RateGood lasting feeder overall
I've used these feeders for years. Some have leaked and cracked, but others have held on without leaking. Bees do get on them, but cannot get inside the holes, and the hummingbirds always manage to find a bee-free place to drink. The bee-guard opening for cleaning, and a taller ant well (allowing the feeder to stand up upside down,) were very good improvements from the earlier models. I would recommend , 1) to make the ant well much deeper, so that the water does not evaporate as fast, and 2) to improve the base seal and prevent eventual leaking or cracking by using some sort of silicone covering the hard plastic that screws onto the glass in the base.
Review RateVery disappointed in this product
Unfortunately I have to add to the list of disappointed customers who have purchased this feeder. It leaks slowly from the feeding ports. I have always trusted Perky Pet for its durable long lasting products so when I saw the design of this feeder with built in ant moat, I thought I had a winner. I had it hanging on the porch and it made a sticky mess on the railing and floor. I will be wary to purchase from Perky Pet againResponse From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateCheap base
I bought this feeder this past spring to replace my old feeder. The base on the new feeder has cracked in multiple places and there doesn't seem to be an option to purchase a replacement base. The hummingbirds seem to like the design but the nectar drains out within a couple of days. The wider glass opening is great for filling but the base needs some serious redesigning.Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateWorst hummingbird feeder ever
Bees just covered the feeder. Hummingbirds couldn't get near and neither could I. Luckily I only bought one. Into the trash!Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
This feeder is equipped with bee guards to help prevent bee access. We apologize this was not your experience and have shared this feedback with our Product Managers. Thank you for taking the time to provide this information. Should this ever occur in the future, simply remove the feeder for a few days to allow the bees to find a different food source.
