“I LOVE THIS FEEDER! I replaced the old style of this feeder for this updated style and I'm so glad I did! The wider opening allows for cleaning with a regular bottlebrush (the old style had a narrow neck and was difficult to clean) and the bee guards that open for cleaning are great. This would be a 5 start humming bird feeder if it didn't leak. I cannot figure out why it leaks.

Leaking can sometimes occur if the feeder is not fully assembled, the ports or seals are not seated properly, or the reservoir is overfilled. We recommend checking that all components are firmly pressed into place and that the feeder is positioned upright and level when filled.

When you clean the bottom ...

When you clean the bottom where the yellow flowers are you can’t get them back together. So I have the jar but no bottom for it. They need to make replacement bottoms with the flowers on them.

The yellow flowers and bee guards are designed to be removable for cleaning and can be put back in place by pressing them firmly into their openings until they are securely seated. If they're not lining up easily, make sure each piece is oriented correctly before pressing it back into place.

Dripping unit.

Purchased new. Filled halfway as per suggestion. Put it up and it started slow dripping. Took it down to clean and put it back together. Up it went and still Dripps. Left it up on my deck as I enjoyed a pair of squirrels lick the deck clean enjoying the sweet nectar. When it empties it is trash bound.

Hummingbird Favorite!

I've tried so many hummingbird feeders, and this is definitely a favorite. The hummingbirds really enjoy it over others. The yellow bee guards keep the wasps out, although they do hover around. I filled the top with vaseline to keep the ants out. Easy to clean and fill! It's always sold out at my local, big-box store.
inferior plastic tops

Time will tell with my new purchase but I have a shelf full of glass bottle syrup holders with bright red feeder bottoms and faded pinkish tops that have broken hanger loops. It’s very obvious that the two plastic pieces are from different sources and weather at greatly different rates. Perky pet does not offer replacement tops as a service to their customers. I love these feeders but have grown tired of one poor part making the whole feeder unusable.

Waste of money!

I bought this along with the perky pet nectar.... Needles to say this does not work! I had to give a 1 star to to leave this review. But this is a BIG 0! Tried multiple things and it just leaks out. I found this to be a waste of money. Tried to take pictures of the feeder and the 16.1oz nectar, but it states it does not accept them

Hummingbird feeders operate using a vacuum seal, and leaking can occur if the feeder is overfilled, not fully tightened, damaged, or tipped during filling and installation. However, we understand that you've already tried multiple solutions and were unable to resolve the issue.

I'm on my second one of these, same problem with the loop in the top that others have. The only good thing is I am able to rotate my two feeders, while one is hanging, the other is being cleaned. (Love the strap and paperclip idea that Nana posted, I will be trying it) The other problem is the bees. I've been researching and it turns out that bees are actually attracted to yellow. So why the HECK are the bee guards YELLOW?!?!?!? I understand that bee like the sun so you should hang your feeder in the shade, but I don't have any shade. I don't use the "flowers" cause they block my view of the birds, when they are able to get around the bees.

I’ve bought 10+ of these exact feeders in the past 3 years. They work great for nearly a month then the bottom cracks or they just leak without reason. I don’t over tighten the bottom. I just bought this one mid June and it’s already dripping several drops a minute. I won’t buy anymore of these. I bought this one and another brand at the same time, same amount of use- other brand holding up WAY better!!! Another thing I don’t like about these- the top fades SO quick!!

I could not hang my feeder because of the 1” long cheap hanging hook you hang the feeder onto your shepherd hook etc it’s incapable of holding the feeder securely so I will have to go back to the store to purchase. Very disappointed also seeing BOLDLY stating established 1958 so misleading me into thinking I am buying an American product which is false.

The model of 8oz. Hummmingbird feeder #203CPBN has the glass body with the plastic feeding ports that I have purchased several over the years. Unfortunately, I have the continual problem with these plastic parts, they crack and leaking all the liquid out. Now I have many glass parts unusable without the plastic feeding station. So, PLEASE tell me and all others, WHY you do not simply sell replacement parts for this model? Other than greed, I find it very hard to understand why you, as a well established company, would not offer your customers the option to purchase plastic replacement parts for your products? You already mass produce your products, so it's not as if you had to redesign anything or take extra steps in your production line. PLEASE, PLEASE reconsider updating your process and help us senior consumers who are a fixed income and love to feed Hummingbirds, a better option than having the added burden to pay full price for a new one and have accumulated so many useful ones that ONLY need a plastic replacement part to be useful again! Would starting a petition help influence your management team? By the way, I have really tried my best to salvage my cracked ones with glue, tape and silicone but unfortunately nothing seems to work! : ( :( :( : (

Why are no replacement parts not available after YEARS of requests?? This feeder is excellent except for the bee guards that have failed after two seasons of gentle hand cleaning. Why are you not carrying replacement units as you do for the older model feeders with the "flush flowers"?

After coming back to this site and reading other questions and reviews it does seem like the cracking of the top and bottom pieces is a persistent issue. Unfortunate that you have not come up with replacement parts or product improvement. For such a systemtic and known problem, "sorry" does not seem adequate.

Hi Do you sell narrow mouth glass bottle hummingburg feeders? We have one left and have no leakage. The wide mouth don't control the water flow or something. I have used 2 feeders an older feeder (approx. 3 years old) and an newer (approx 2 yr old) and they leak terribly.
