Clear, Wide-Mouth Bottle for Easy Filling
Filling your feeder doesn’t have to be messy and frustrating. That’s why we’ve designed the Pinch-Waist Hummingbird Feeder with a convenient wide-mouth bottle. It makes filling easier, resulting in fewer spills as you pour nectar. Plus, the crystal-clear glass allows you to monitor nectar levels at a glance.
Accommodates Multiple Birds
Complete with four flower-shaped ports and comfortable perches, the Perky-Pet® Pinch-Waist Glass Hummingbird Feeder will easily accommodate multiple hummingbirds at the same time. With the bright red color, it makes an absolutely irresistible combination to attract hummers.
Keep Out Insects
Insects are often a source of frustration at hummingbird feeders. Fortunately, our built-in bee guards and ant moat provide an effective line of defense against these unwanted pests. The bee guards keep bees at bay, while hummingbirds can still easily access the nectar. To keep ants away, fill the top of the lid with water to create a barrier that prevents them from crawling down to the ports.
Comes Apart for Thorough Cleaning
Hummingbirds prefer to visit fresh, clean feeding stations. To make that easier, this feeder disassembles completely for effortless cleaning. Remove the ant moat, base and bottle with ease – even the built-in bee guards come apart! In addition, the wide-mouth design allows you to access hard-to-reach spots of the bottle. Remember to clean your feeder at least once per week with a mild soap and water solution to prevent mildew buildup.

“I LOVE THIS FEEDER! I replaced the old style of this feeder for this updated style and I'm so glad I did! The wider opening allows for cleaning with a regular bottlebrush (the old style had a narrow neck and was difficult to clean) and the bee guards that open for cleaning are great. I like the size of this feeder because the birds eat the nectar so quickly it makes sure I am cleaning them every few days, which prevents the mold that is harmful to the hummers." I have been using the original version of this feeder - with slender perches and removable bee guards - for 15-18 years. Now it has been redesigned with a loop of plastic for perches (set too close to ports), non-removable bee guards (when they are the first thing to become grotty) and a wider base for filling with no snap-in baffle. The new design leaks like a sieve - lost half of my nectar in the first 10 hours. I am totally, totally disappointed. Bring back the old design!

Leaks and short-lived. Hoping for the return of the original narrow-mouth design.

I have been using the Pinch Waist Hummingbird Feeder for over 30 years but the newer wide-mouth design leaks and doesn’t last as long as the original design. The wide-mouth design leaks from the feeder ports when the internal pressure increases due to thermal expansion of the internal air. It leaks so bad that I must keep a bucket under the feeder all year long. I estimate that 25% or more of the nectar is lost between filling cycles. My feeder is exposed to the afternoon sun and this is when the leakage skyrockets. I never had this problem with the original narrow-mouth design.
I have found that the wide-mouth design lasts less than ½ as long as the original design. The plastic portion, which seals against the tapered glass, eventually splits due to the stress. Do not overtighten.
I recommend that Perky-Pet returns to the original narrow-mouth design. It did not leak due to thermal expansion and it lasted longer. I have no problem with using a funnel when filling. I wish that I could find the original design now.

Tigard, Oregon. Tried many types of feeders and this is the one that is the most popular with the hummingbirds. During the 17-degree cold spell I was rotating them every 1.5 hours, so they did not freeze up for our stay over hummers.
great units use on vancouver island canada use 2 when starts to freeze at night keep one in house over night and than put outside in morning . some people here have heated humming bird feeders . modified for feeding bumble bees in early spring in northern manitoba so they can take care of my haskap bushes .
Although I like this feeder and the hummingbirds seem to enjoy using it, the design of the hanging loop on the ant moat cap is a weak link. The thin plastic hanging loop broke after just a couple months, and I'm very careful when I take it down for cleaning and hang it back up. Frustratingly, Perky Pet doesn't offer replacement caps. The hanging loop design needs to be improved to accommodate the weight of the feeder or the loop needs to be made out of metal. Seems like a waste to have to replace the whole feeder because of one small broken piece. Please upgrade the cap design, Perky Pet!
The feeder leaks everything out within a day so the bees have invaded the feeder. I have moved it to different locations in my yard but the bees find it within minutes. I would not recommend this feeder to anyone I will go back to my old plastic feeders. I plan on taking it back to the store for a refund.
We are sorry to hear about this! Be sure to check that the base is tight, and that the bottle neck threads line up correctly to help prevent leaking. For best results, we recommend hanging the feeder in the shade as well as out of high traffic or windy areas. Please feel free to contact the original retailer for assistance with a refund if you purchased it within the last 30 days.

These are no wasp and bee free. Small bees continually get in the sugar water and bumble bees and wasps are continually on the feeder.
Thank you for sharing this feedback. We recommend to first check that the feeder is not leaking. If bees are buzzing around your feeder, you may want to take it down for a couple of days. This will allow time for the bees to find a different food source. For more information on protecting your feeder from bees, please visit https://www.perkypet.com/advice/protecting-birds/insects.
