Mourning Dove

Mourning Doves are well known for their soft cooing song. Mourning Doves are still found in great numbers throughout their habitat, although they are often hunted as game birds.

Even though both male and female Mourning Doves are involved in the nest building process, the nest is usually constructed poorly -- yet it seems to serve its purpose for the incubation and hatching of the eggs.
