. . . poorly designed for mounting on a pole, even though there’s a port at the bottom that accommodates a threaded hook or a pole adapter. I bought two of these several years ago, hoping to mount them on DY pole kits. These feeders are very well made, as you’d expect from DY, but they’re very heavy. There is no compatible pole adapter strong enough to keep the feeders upright - the threads on the adapter quickly strip, the feeder goes over, hits the ground. Once in my experience the dome cracked when it struck the frozen ground. Another time the wire loop was knocked out of shape so that it was near impossible to lift the top for refilling, again the wire so sturdy, I couldn’t get it back into shape. Also, whatever is used to anchor the cage to the base of the tube, don’t remove it. Realigning the tube to reattach the base of the tube to the bottom of the cage is very frustrating. (The o-ring that sits between the bottom of the cage and the tube quickly rusted away.) So, hang it, great; pole-mount it, not recommended.

I have so many chickadees, titmice, and finches on it! I love the dome cover on it, which shields it from a lot of the elements. It's not weather proof in Massachusetts wind/rain (or wind/snow), nor does it claim to be, but when it's just a light shower, the birds still use it. Very happy with this!

I had mine many years and it pretty much defeated the grey squirrels, though the cage's green coating gradually was gnawed away by their persistence. I'd also had to replace the plastic nut at the bottom several times, as they'd chew it up trying to get in. All was well until a tribe of red squirrels moved in. They are small enough to get into the cage and gorge on seed. I had to dispose of the feeder because I couldn't afford daily refills of oilers. Am ordering one of the alternatives, hoping their mechanisms will defeat these little guys.

I purchased this feeder from a store several months ago to attract painted bunting. They arrived within 24 hours of hanging it! This purchase is a gift for my bird loving sister-in-law.

Within 48 hours the birds have discovered the feeder. I’ve had mostly female cardinals and a few sparrows. I have a large squirrel population, but non attempted to gain access to this feeder.

Great customer service. I messed up with the order and easily got it changed. A little long on the phone on hold waiting for service but good people when I got there.

this is a replacement of the same bird feeder that's lasted many years. replacement because the flickers have damaged the cage and feeder stands. this time, we're adding another layer of small fencing around the cage, about 3' away from the bird feeder caging. so far, so good.

Has been up for almost 2 weeks. Only a few brave chickadees are feeding. I will be patient. It is in the spot my other feeder was. I purchased it because a deer frequented the tube feeder I had. He has been unable to get to birdseed in the caged feeder. Do any of your customers have similar experiences.

Works great and solved my issue with the birds I did not want at the feeder.
