Perky-Pet® Hummerbar® Hummingbird Feeder—2 ft
Perky-Pet®'s horizontal-hanging 2 Foot Hummerbar® Hummingbird Feeding Tube offers a revolutionary way to feed more hummingbirds at one time.
Nectar filled hummerbar® is a 2-foot plastic tube offering 22 feeding ports and, when compared to other hummingbird feeders, is easy to clean. Patented feeder hangs horizontally while delivering plenty of nectar for hummingbirds. Feeder ports are made of plastic molded in red, a color proven to attract hummers. Each port is spaced just right to allow hummingbirds to feed side-by-side!
The feeder is built of a clear plastic feeding tube, which allows you to easily monitor nectar levels.
With Perky-Pet®'s Hummerbar®, you get the ultimate hummingbird feeder!
How to hang the Hummerbar®
- Remove an end cap.
- Remove nectar-pouring funnel from tube.
- Replace the end cap.
- Select an outdoor area to hang the Hummerbar®.
- Hang using loops at end of hanging cords—make sure the feeder is low enough to access for refilling and cleaning.
- Level the Hummerbar® by adjusting its cords. Slide cord locks up and down as needed to level.
- Remove rubber stopper from nectar basin and insert funnel.
- Fill about 1⁄4th full with Perky-Pet® hummingbird nectar. Compare each end by eye. If nectar is pooling to one side, then adjust cord locks again.
- Once nectar is evenly distributed, continue to fill nectar basin until half full. Do not overfill.
- Remove funnel, insert rubber stopper.
The best hummingbird nectar uses a 100% sucrose formula, which hummers prefer because it is easy to digest. All Perky-Pet® Hummingbird Nectar uses a 100% sucrose formula.
Never fill the Hummerbar® more than half-full. Overfilling the Hummerbar® can cause the feeder to leak.
If a 2-foot Perky-Pet® Hummerbar® isn't enough for your hummers, then try the the 4-foot version. With 44 feeder ports on the 4-foot version, you can feed even more hummingbirds.

Review RateEasy enough
The product is great. I don't understand all the negativity. My wife brought it home, I put it up in a couple of minutes. She made the food and poured it in. It's a little tricky but no different than pouring in a normal funnel. I leveled it by eye, didn't use a level. It's not rocket science. I sit on the porch every morning and watch hummingbirds come and go enjoying the feeder. My wife and I and our B&B guests enjoy the birds and the feeder. My only question is how far can it get down before they can't reach it and I have to refill it. The only complaint I have is that little booger that tries to bully the other hummingbirds. I can't fix that though.
Review RateWould not purchase again due to maximum effort required to remove label.
If you order these you will need lots of Goo-Gone and 30 minutes of labor for a 2' feeder to remove the label. They are very large and very difficult to get off the feeders. They look great without the labels!
Review RateWhere to Order Replacement Parts?
It is difficult to fill, but once level, not so bad. The problem is the fill hole. The rubber plug for the fill hole has basically turned to rubber mush and is no longer working. Can not figure out how to order a new plug.Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateDo not buy these if you don't have patience to balance them
I bought "2" of these feeders at the end of the season and had nothing but trouble with them the following year. I could never get them perfectly even and balanced. Due to being disabled I could not stand long enough to get them evenly balanced. I had another person help me with not much more good luck than me. I spilled more juice then a Hummingbird could drink in a season. They might work for some people, but not for me. I was very disappointed not being able to use them at all. I unfortunately had to throw them out because it was over the return policy period. That was a waste of money for me!Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

I've been feeding hummingbirds for over 30 yrs. and was excited to try this feeder right at migration time when I have over 30 feeders out. I ordered from Amazon, but never got to try it. The label was soooo glue on no method I used worked to remove the glue. Now I have smeared glue on the whole thing and it has rendered it useless. Why would you glue a label on clear plastic? So, so, so disappointed!Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateDon’t buy this style feeder!
I bought 2, one for me the other a gift for my mother. My mother’s is still sitting here. I’m too embarrassed to give it to her. I cannot recommend this tube feeder to anyone. I have even changed the area so that it is sheltered from the wind. I used a torpedo level to make sure it was level before putting the hummingbird food in it. I have it hung so that there is very little sting left for hanging, so no swaying. This thing leaks like a sieve! No matter what I do, what I try, how little I put in, how much I put in. I’d return them if I could but I can’t. So I have two feeders I paid full price for that are worthless. I’ve bought other styles of feeders that I was happy with. But not this one!Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
We are very sorry to hear of this experience! How much nectar are you filling the feeder with? Filling it more than half full could cause it to leak.

Review RateSave your money
Holy cow, I wish I could give this feeder a 0 because that is what I got out of it. Like other reviewers, it was the most frustrating experience trying to get it leveled once filled. I, too, ended up covered in sugar water. My front porch and step stool had to be hosed down countless times as I continued to try to make this product work. I purchased this item at Tractor Supply and ended up throwing it in the trash. $20 down the drain.Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
We are very sorry to hear of this experience! To help prevent this from occurring, we recommend leveling the feeder first. As the feeder is filled, we recommend continuing to ensure the feeder is level and to fill only half way.

Review RateAn easy way to set up the hummer bar
After reading reviews about how difficult this was to set up after receiving it as a gift, , I found it was not difficult at all! I have 2 extra feeder hanger hooks that I put over a low branch of a tree. I placed them the length of the feeder apart and the top ends of the cords on these hooks. I eyed it to level it, then slowly filled it to a little over half full. It is very easy to adjust the cords to level it by eye during the filling when there is liquid inside of it, just eye it from the bottom of the flower ports on each end! I’ve only had it up for a little over a week, but the hummers have found it and use it almost as much as the feeders I have up for years, which are still there. No trouble with leakage yet!
Review RateTHE WORST feeder money can buy
Holy Moly....no way to this god awful feeder. I have been a loyal hummingbird feeder and PP customer for over 20-years. I know feeders well and wanted to try something NEW. DON'T This bar is a nightmare to set-up, fill-up, and then clean? OMG, I cannot imagine. I wish that I could upload a photo that would show you mine that I just put up yesterday FILLED with ants dead and alive. Not to mention the spilled nectar all over me and the ground, the fight I got in with my husband putting this up, the clothes that were sticky and needed a wash.... Never again....Response From Perky-Pet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Hummingbird Feeders - FAQs
Q: What else do I need to know about hanging a Hummerbar®?
A: Make sure the Hummerbar® is level. This will be the key to enjoying your Hummerbar®. If the feeder isn't level, then nectar can ooze out of its feeder ports. The best way to level the feeder is to use a "construction level" as you work on placing it. Start by leveling it by sight, then use the tool to help you make additional adjustments.
Use the easy-sliding locks on each cord to fix the feeder into place. If those locks stay in place, your Hummerbar® should be "just right" every time.
Q: Should I "test" my Hummerbar® to see if it's level?
A: Instead of dealing with sticky nectar, try testing it with some water. After leveling it, pour some water into the Hummerbar®'s nectar basin. If the liquid distributes evenly along the Hummerbar®, it's ready to take nectar. If the water pools in one end, you need to work on leveling the Hummerbar® again. Once it appears to be level, dump the water and add your Perky-Pet® nectar!
Q: Do you fill the Hummerbar® to the top?
A: Never fill your Hummerbar® all the way to the top. First, you should only fill the Hummerbar® with as much nectar as your hummingbirds will eat in two days. Secondly, you should only fill about half of the Hummerbar® nectar basin—any higher and you could risk spilling nectar. Don't worry about the hummers though. The basin size was set to match the length of a hummingbird's tongue!
Q: What's the cleaning schedule for my Hummerbar®?
A: Clean the Hummerbar® every two days to keep mold from forming. On especially cool days, you can let it sit a day or so longer.
Q: Why is nectar leaking from the feeder ports?
A: Two things could cause your Hummerbar® to leak from its feeder ports. Did you overfill it? Remember to never fill a Hummerbar® more than half-full. Also, are you sure the feeder is level? This could cause leakage out of one end of the Hummerbar®. Try re-leveling it.
Q: Why is nectar leaking from the end caps?
A: If this is happening, just try pushing the end caps fully into the Hummerbar®. Each end cap should seal around the end of the Hummerbar®. After any leak, you may want to wipe the feeder down with a wet cloth.
Q: Should I take my Hummerbar® down when bad weather is coming?
A: High winds could cause your Hummerbar® to start swinging. The sloshing action could cause nectar to leak out.
Q: I want to bring even more hummingbirds. Any tips?
A: You can bring more hummingbirds to your yard by adding hummingbird-friendly flowers, including zinnias, butterfly bushes, columbines and salvias. Also make sure you have a good source of water for hummingbirds and other birds.
