Review RateGreat except for no replacement for petal ports
Used this feeder through one season. I agree with the other reviewers that there should be replacement ports available for these since the material is very soft and has absorbed discoloration. No way to clean off. I came to this site looking for replacement petal ports and to order two more of this feeder to replace some plastic ones I used this summer. Glass just continues to look cleaner to me. Jeers to Perky Pet for not fixing this problem for your customers!Response From Perky-Pet®Lauren : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateClean out disc?
The disc is always full of liquid when I clean the feeder. It is very difficult to get liquid out. Should I seal the disc? The liquid is sugar water and if not cleaned could harm the birds.Response From Perky-Pet®Jules : Consumer Relations Representative

I was very pleased with this feeder until I filled it the last time and heard a crash when I came into the house. The glass reservoir had broken in two at the plastic base. Very disappointed. My decades old plastic one is still in service.Response From Perky-Pet®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative

I got this feeder this season and was so happy to have the top fill. It seemed a bit slow to feed them. Filled it a few minutes ago and heard a crash. The bottom of the glass container had broken in two parts from where it screws in. They are frantically trying to feed from the pieces on the deck rail. Hope I can find my receipt from Home Depot or Lowes.Response From Perky-Pet®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative

Review Rateleaky feeder
Love the feeder but in season #2 and both floats are filling with liquid creating leaky feeder. Poor float assembly. If your feeder is leaking - check for liquid inside float.
Review RateCan't get replacement parts
After reading other reviews on this feeder, I'm very disappointed. I bought this feeder 3 weeks ago to replace one I had that broke. I really like it, unfortunately the racoons do as well. They climbed up the metal rod that is holding the feeder and knock it off, fortunately the feeder did not break. The racoons must have liked the flowers because they took them and now I have one left. I thought I could purchase more flowers but read that you do not have replacement parts. After reading the other reviews, maybe it would be profitable if you did have replacement parts.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: This is my first Top Fill Hummingbird feeder, what are some good tips to filling and cleaning my new feeder?
A: Follow the steps on the chart for best filling and cleaning tips.
Q: I typically get a lot of ants around my hummingbird feeders, what can I do to prevent them from getting to the nectar?
A: No worries, with this top fill feeder - it has a built in ant moat right in the lid of the feeder. After filling your feeder and hanging, simply pour a small amount of water in the top of the lid.
Q: What criteria should I use when selecting a hummingbird feeder?
A: Make sure it is one that will be easy to clean and fill, especially since you will need to clean the feeder every few days. If you are worried about bees and wasps or ants invading the feeder, purchase a hummingbird feeder with bee guards, such as the Perky-Pet® model #203CP or ant guards, Perky-Pet® model #242.
Q: How do I clean my hummingbird feeders?
A: Hummingbird feeders need to be cleaned every 1-2 weeks. Use hot water and a bottle brush, along with mild soap; be sure to rinse thoroughly. The Perky-Pet® cleaning mop is specifically designed for the purpose of cleaning hummingbird feeders, and is very convenient to use. This cleaning mop can also be used on seed feeders and oriole feeders for those small, tight spaces that are difficult to reach.
Q: What is the importance of providing water for hummingbirds?
A. Hummingbirds need fresh, clean water just as much as they need nectar. Hummingbirds stay healthy by using water not just for drinking, but also bathing, cleaning their feathers and to remove parasites. Waterers are better options than bird baths because they provide hummingbirds with fresh, clean water that prevents dirt and debris from contaminating it. In hotter climates or seasons, providing water for hummingbirds makes it easy for them to have access to a water source and retain their energy.
